About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live life to its fullest.

ABOUT ME

Graduated college in 2012 then moved to Guatemala for two years. Currently in Oaxaca, Mexico doing some volunteer work. I plan to travel around Mexico a bit before going back to school in the United States.
Work hard, play hard seems to be pretty true regarding my life. I'm very organized, disciplined, and hardworking, but when Friday rolls around you can bet that I'm making plans with my friends to go out.

PHILOSOPHY

Every day's a new day, and I feel that I've got no choice but to make the best out of every situation. Instead of dwelling on mistakes I try to look at it as an opportunity to learn something new. Life's too short to live with regrets.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: My music tastes vary depending on what I'm doing. At the gym it's rap/reggaeton/electronic. On road trips it's oldies with a bit of country. The best concerts I've been to are The Gorillaz, The XX, Steve Miller Band, Pretty Lights, and Die Antwoord.

Movies: I don't normally spend much time watching TV or movies, but I do enjoy a good comedy or horror film every once in a while.

Books: I like reading non-fiction books about culture and history. I just finished Una Breve Historia de Guatemala and El Colonel No Tiene Quien Le Escriba a couple months ago.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba diving in the cenotes in Tulum, Mexico.
Saw the ancient Mayan ruins in Mexico and Guatemala.
Meeting a professional Japanese air guitarist.
Experienced the madness of the World Cup in 2006 in Germany.
Lived with a Navajo family on a reservation - definitely one of the most rewarding things I've ever done in my life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A great conversation. I studied anthropology in college, therefore I love learning about other cultures and backgrounds. I doubt there will be a dull moment with me in your house.
If there's enough time I'll cook you one of my favorite dishes from the states :)
