Hello! My name is Zdenka, I´m 27 years old and I am originally from Slovakia. I love traveling, exploring new places and different cultures. That was the reason why I left my home country for the Work and Travel Program for the first time. I spend two summers in Virginia Beach and traveled around the US after the WAT program.
I fell in love with traveling and needed a break from school so I decided to try something new. AuPair program sounded perfect to me. So I packed my staff after my bachelor's graduation and left for Marin county which is close to San Francisco, where I spend my first year as an Aupair. There was a chance to change the location for the second year, therefore I was relocated to Dallas, which I would call my second home.
During my Work and Travel and AuPair adventure, I’ve visited 25 states in the US. At some of these trips, we stayed with couch surfers and I was so lucky to have great hosts who showed us around or gave us really good tips on where to go or what is worth seeing.
After my AuPair experience was over I decided to finish school and moved to London, England. Currently, I finished University and therefore I would like to do some exploring., before I will start my Internship in Indonesia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling and exploring new places, but not in Hotel Resort. When I am visiting new countries I would like to get a real experience, see how locals live, try their traditional food/drinks, see secret places what just local people know about and of course, I would appreciate advice on what is worth seeing or do during my stay. On the other side, I also like to learn about others people's perspectives of life, because meeting people from all over the world made me grow a lot and I think it was the best lesson of my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to almost everything that is on the radio, but with movies and books, I'm very picky. I like to watch documentaries and used to watch true stories or investigations. I also enjoy reading. Self-development, self-help, and positive thinking books are the ones I like to read the most.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the best thing I've done was the decision to leave my home country and come to the US as an AuPair.
Thanks to that I had a chance to meet people from all around the world, make friends in many countries, and visited incredible places. Also, it though me a lot about different cultures, about myself, and gave me a better perspective on everything. However, there is still a lot to learn. So, let's explore!
