I have hosted 3000+ in 15 years of couch surfing

This week I experienced my by FAR worst and scariest experience with "Alina" from Ukraine or Poland ( she is unclear about it).
Still shaking.
Extremely manipulative, stealing things, opening presents I had for my daughter.
Going in the fridge and drinking all 5 beers I had within hours , opening all kinds of food items without asking.
Threatening to trash my apartment if I did not let her stay longer.
Took me 5 hours to get her out of my apartment.

A nightmare.

Maybe better to stop hosting.

My work ( though semi-retired by choice) requires a great deal of traveling.
However I do try to host as many people as possible whenever I am in town.

********Dirty dishes prove I feed my family, full trash cans means I clean up after their messes, messy floors mean I let my children have fun, piles of laundry mean I keep my family in clean clothes, wet bathroom means I bathe my kids! I love CouchSurfing as a human community, as an inspiring experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The only problem that I have with couchsurfing, is that I keep falling in love with my guests CSers.
Not in a sexual sort of way, just in a "WOW, what an amazing and wonderful person, I want to spend 10 more hours / days with him/her" sort of way.
And then, in a day, or a week, they are out of my life and move on to their next adventure.
Never to be seen again.

I enjoy spending time with my children. But they are out of the house now.
Playing tennis ( if you like to play I can take you to my beautiful and historic tennis club), lively conversations, eating Japanese and Mediterranean food, modern architecture and art.
