About Me

I'm a game developer, a lifelong musician/artist, and the founder of a memory training project. I love good music, art, food, games, and outdoor adventures, but especially great stories and new people!

Right now I'm working remotely, learning Spanish, and exploring Mexico. After that, we'll see where curiosity takes me :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I made a job I can do while traveling, and now I'm putting it to good use. I'm here to make new friends, exchange stories and adventure tips, and to help "break the ice" in new places.

Music, Movies, and Books

Things I recently loved...

Music: Son Lux, Cat Empire, Banks, Kronos Quartet, Dillon Francis, Mick Gordon, Chet Baker, Battles

Movies: The Revenant, Mamma Mia, Parasite, Peanut Butter Falcon, Bladerunner 2049, Moana, Inception, Bob's Burgers (do shows count?)

Books: Children of Time, Waking Up, The Gentle Seduction, anything by Yuval Harari or Tim Ferriss, Diamond Age, Zero to One, Nexus... I probably spend more time reading neurology research journals than books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Outran a HUGE thunderstorm along the Path of the Gods in Positano, to take shelter with Antonio the goat herder in his 18th century cliff house, where we shared fresh homemade cheese and wine by candlelight until the storm passed. (That's us with Antonio in my 2nd profile pic)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn Spanish, German, French, and Mandarin, or anything to do with physics, biology, psychology, or technology. I'd also enjoy playing any games you like – card games, board games, road trip games, video games, anything!

I love to teach. I've taught private lessons in piano, guitar, drums, singing, and music theory. Many of my jobs have been helping people make digital things of all sorts – music, art, games, apps, websites. Behavioral psychology has been a big passion of mine for over a decade.
