profile text: I love the way of traveling couchsurfing offers. It's a great opportunity to meet interessting people and locals with whom you experience so much more than on a standard tourist trip. That's why I like hosting myself. I want to show people a little bit of the way I am living and of the beauty of Europe.

I did a 4 month roadtrip through the USA and Canada in 2010. That's how I was introduced to Couchsurfing. Ever since I hosted myself or surfed when travelling through Europe or on my trip to New Zealand in 2017 which was a long held dream of mine.

Some facts about me (since I don't like writing long texts...):
I love dancing, doing sports, nature, being outdoors, enjoying the silcence of a forest, horseback riding, historic places, castles, historic cities, good food, meeting interessting people, practising foreign languages, travelling, watching funny movies and tv shows, reading and watching docementaries about history...

After I surfed so many places around the world, I want to return the favor and host people and make their time in Germany a great experience!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met many great people while couchsurfing and always had a great time. It was interessting to experience more than just the "tourist stuff". Now, I sometimes still surf couches when I travel to get to know interessting people and have a more authentic travel.

Interests

dancing (especially Rock'n'Roll and Salsa), horseback riding, doing sports in general, hiking

The history nerd in me ventures to Campus Galli several times a year to participate :) It's a medieval construction site where they are building a 9th century monastery with the techniques and tools of that time. They will keep on building for the next 80 years... So if you are in South Germany near the border to Switzerland, you should definitely check it out! www.campus-galli.de

Music, Movies, and Books

If I read at all, it's often specialist literature about history.
Movies: action, dancing and Disney movies. I know, it's a weird combination...
Music: Most of the time I listen to classical or film music. Apart from that I like Rock'n'Roll, 80s, black music, latin american music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding through my favorite forest with a horse all by myself.
Hiking through the Earnslaw Burn Valley, New Zealand, to the foot of the glacier and camping in the wilderness being all by myself and the only person in the valley. Amazing and frightening at the same time!
Walking through the Lower Antelope Canyon, USA - what a play of colors!
Hiking up on Angels Landing in Zion NP, USA, for me a quite scaring experience (when you are not good with heights ;) )
Having a tasty birthday barbecue directly on the beach of Maui, Hawaii with my brother.
Walking the streets of ancient Pompeji, Italy and seeing what the Romans built 2000 years ago in real life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like hearing about you and what you've experienced in life so far.
Although I prefer eating to cooking, I think cooking together is great way of introducing one's own culture to someone ;)
