About Me

Warning: I won’t hook up with you in exchange for a couch or city tour :)

I’ve been traveling around the world for 1.5 years now!

Describing yourself is always weird, but people I’ve met while traveling have often described me as “curious” and “enthusiastic.”

I appreciate genuine conversation above all else (sharing experiences, perceptions, ideas) or taking part in cultural experiences wherever we are. Sometimes known to ask piercing questions and dissect controversial opinions. 👀 I’m most curious about art, history, culture, and social issues in the places that I’m visiting.

And of course, I am really appreciative of anyone who opens up their time and/or space to me. 🧡 Couchsurfing has added so much to my experience on this trip and I am grateful for all the hangouts and adventures!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really enjoy making meaningful connections, and to hang out with locals and really get to know an area. Also, traveling for a long time can get lonely, and CS helps me feel like I have a community of awesome people everywhere that I go. I have made a couple of great friends that I’m still in touch with, and it’s crazy to think they wouldn’t have been in my life without this app!

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC
I love African / African-inspired music the most: Amapiano, Afro-pop, Afrobeats.

MOVIES/TV
I’ll be honest, I don’t watch movies much and can’t really tell you my favorite 👀 When it comes to TV I love relatable comedies, like Community, Arrested Development, Abbott Elementary.

BOOKS
I’m a voracious reader; for classical literature I love Eastern European authors, and for modern fiction I read a lot of Black & African authors (one of my favorite books ever is Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi). A lot of the nonfiction books I read are about Buddhism, neuroscience, or are biographies of people I admire. Always looking for a good book to read - would love to swap suggestions. I have a long list of recommendations to share!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was an executive producer on a music album (I’ll share the Spotify link when we meet!).
