Currently I am a fulltime vagabond. Prior to this I worked for International Business Machines (IBM) for 8 years. I began my career as a software developer, eventually finding myself in sales management. I held 5 different positions in the company during those 8 years.

PHILOSOPHY

My name is Keith McGuinnes. I’m from Boulder Colorado and have created this blog to document my year as a Vagabond, a self-titled Pilgrimage to Nowhere. I recently separated from IBM after 8 years and graduated with an MBA from the University of Denver. One could say I’m trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up… This trip is much more than just travel and seeing sights. Its a journey, one that has no beginning and no end.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new and looking forward to becoming involved. I just turned 30 years old and in the midst of trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up. When I was 20, I spent a year abroad London, discovering independent travel for the first time as I backpacked my way across Europe. It was then that I committed to myself that before 30 I would take a large sabbatical and travel around the world. Here I am!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am just getting started. My CS experience is limited at this point, only used once in Japan, but have spoken with countless surfers who have gotten me very psyched!I’m traveling and looking to surf this year and once I get the hang of CS I look forward to returning the karma once I resettle in Colorado.

I have a lot of expertise in computers, stemming from my education and constant attachment to one since the age of 12.
I’ve been in Sales for 3 years and just graduated from business school so love brainstorming entrepreneurial ideas or anything business related
