Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Trying my best to explore as much as possible, hold together some kind of academic career whilst studiously avoiding making life decisions
ABOUT ME
I like to sing while I cycle. That probably just about sums it up...
Other than that I'm travelling eccentric , a questionable academic, an occasional comedian, an enthusiastic teacher, a hopeless romantic, a piercing realist, an ill-informed historian, and a general pontificator. Currently studying Physics at Cambridge, trying to travel as much as possible in the mean time. Oh, and i windsurf whenever i possibly can (which is much more seldom than i'd like).
PHILOSOPHY
Life's much too complicated to worry about. Things normally turn out alright in the end. You should never pick up a prickly pear.
Those are pretty much the only things that I believe wholeheartedly.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting and meeting people in my own town (which town that is chanegs quite often so sorry if I'm not where I claim to be) I try to find some time to show people around and go for a meal or a drink, but I apologise if I'm rushed off my feet when you're around.
At the same time I'm the world's greatest guest, I can sleep in a cardboard shoebox, emit no heat or sound and can predict weather patterns more reliably than a satellite...
But actually, I'm a perfectly discrete and conscientious house guest, love exploring new places with new people and am generally laid back about pretty much everything.
Interests
Studying, reading, cycling, windsurfing (when i can), writing and performing the odd bit of comedy, spending time with friends preferably in a pub and trying to travel as much as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books
Always scared to put much down for these as tastes change so quickly, but I'll have a go
Books I love include stuff like The English Patient, One Hundred Years of Solitude, anything by Rudyard Kipling, Douglas Adams or Iain Banks
Music, anything clever, witty lyrics, interesting instrumentation and some good ol' fashioned musical talent. Check out someone like Andrew Bird for all three, but my tastes are nothing if not broad.
Films, hearty split between the great works of cinematography like Lawrence of Arabia and Apocalypse Now, with cult classics and anything with a bit of playful wit.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, here's a few...
-Hitch-hikeing to Jerusalem for charity
-Car chases in Egypt
-Comandeering an entire fleet of pedallos in Prague
-Rock climbing amongst giant sequoias in California
-Mountain biking down the Himalayas
-Navigating the coast of Southern Turkey by boat
Teach, Learn, Share
Love to teach, i'm a tutor in my spare time and while i love to wax lyrical about London and the rest of the world, i'd be all the more delighted to talk, teach and learn anything to do with maths, physics, history, literature, politics, philosophy or travel
