About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to share and learn about life with other curious interested people

ABOUT ME

At age four I wanted to be Prime Minister of Canada because I couldn't imagine there was a problem existing in the world that couldn't be solved. So as I grew up and I realized that 'it's complicated' I learned that love and honesty are still the best ingredients for positive solutions in the world. So I did work in Politics for my whole 20's, at the Canadian Embasssy in Washington, DC. Then I left to return to Canada and go to Art school (the best decision I could have made!) And now I am making art in Toronto and have started three major projects that are taking the form of companies. One is called 'zerobaggage' and its goal is to help people live and travel lighter. The next is called 'my art platform' and it's goal is to provide a free art platform for anyone who is involved in art, to join, share and show their work. And the third project is not a company yet but will be a portal for people to 'discover and share their ever-evolving best-self with the world. Oh, I am turning 40 this year and could not be more excited about it!

PHILOSOPHY

To engage and interact with the world in a way that gives it back as much (or more) than I get from it. Nothing is impossible. Choice is power. Action yeilds results.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I only recently joined couch surfing so I am very new to it. My first experience was absolutely amazing!!! I stayed with the "allcanadiangirl" in Stratford, Canada and she and her daughter were just kind, gorgeous and amazing! I am excited to offer a couch as soon as I'm able. I will update this section as my participation grows.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Ah, well, I have only had one, but let me talk about it here. I was in a situation where participating or not in an important conference meant getting there and staying there. Denise Vaughn of Stratford not only made this possible for me but was able to get us tickets to see a great play! and join my after-conference party, and allow me to take her and her wonderful daughter Kyana to dinner! and by the end I realized that besides attending the conference i had these new friends and great experiences that will remain unforgettable. It made me richer a person. I Love couch surfing and thinks it's very much in line with my philosophy of zerobaggage ( the journey of zero-mental, emotional, physical -baggage).

Interests

I am curious about everything. How dew forms on a leaf, watching skateboarders do their magic, exploring what new business models exist and how they impact daily living for the average person.....everything. I love reading. I love dance and theatre. I love art and design. I love making art and designing things and possible experiences. I love listening to people talk. I love falling in love (who doesn't?:) The list goes on....

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Jonathan Livingston Seagull (book and movie).
My favourite books are the Little Prince and "oh the places you'll go!"-Dr. Seuss. I am usually most in love with the last book I've read, which in this case is John Steinbeck's "The Grapes of Wrath". Music is a strange thing that I have always let find me. I like my environment to dictate my music so I can hear new things or relate warmly to like preferences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've helped birth 3 babies. I conquered my fear of sharks by swimming across a bay in St. Lucia while holding my clothes above my head in one hand. I wrote a proposal for Richard Branson and put it in his hand myself (even though he didn't accept it:). I saw a baby raccoon scale a wall and against all odds - make it to safety (phenomenal determination and will).

Teach, Learn, Share

Rock-balancing - this is like sculpting gravity. It's self-challenging and transformational. www.ted.com is a great site to learn from amazing people around the world on a large variety of topics. Nearly every life lession is in "The Little Prince" - reading it again and again is a great idea. www.librivox.com is a great way to listen to books for free online and share with others. More to come......
