ABOUT ME

People call me a lot of things. My name is Sam.. but many more people know me as Abba - as it is my last name, not because I am a dancing queen - Probably most people know me as Jesus. 'Tis a nickname I picked up in middle school and took pretty well. In fact, I'd say loads of people don't even know my real name as a result. I have a multitude of other nick names including [but certainly not limited to] Samiamsam, Mustafa Nigeriaguagofteendin Cauc, Smabba, Ghetto Fabulous Freshly Squeezed Pimp Juice, Abba-Sam, Sasquatch, Samson, ... and the beat goes on. Because of that I tend to respond to most any name, so do feel free to make up your own name for me. Either now or later, no matter.

I tend to win the nerd fight as a result of my entire family being huge book worms/geeks. I've been to plenty of sci-fi conventions, rennasaince faires, and even work with the staff of a local anime convention -though i don't have any real love for anime. Totally laid back and open minded about most everything, got a lot of complex and awesome views on things that keep make me pretty unique [imho].

I know lots about lots and more than willing to share that with anyone.
I like books, but I hate how much time it takes to get through them.
I love movies, the older the better for sure. Black and white are usually the best, silent ones pretty much rock my [eye] sockets.

I am someone people come to depend on for advice and support. I work real hard to maintain that and provide that for anyone that needs it or wants it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to host fellow surfers. For now I don't have much travelling on my agenda, but I intend to eventually for certain.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a number of friends host fellow surfers and they've always been entertaining and interesting experiences. I look forward to many more and hope that they continue to be fruitful and rewarding.

Music, Movies, and Books

L O V E music. I'm not particular about it really, but I am picky. I love most all genres, from classical to thrash metal. that includes opera, rap, rock, bluegrass, blues, folk, techno, jazz, celtic, experimental, et cetera et cetera... However, I am N*O*T a fan of polka, yodeling, or country. Some of any of those are ok but for the most part they don't make me happy. I also avoid this annoying emo craze going around, not because the music is bad, but because I don't appreciate the movement whatsoever, wanna know why, ask.

I like a LOT of movies, if you're too lazy to check out the list in my movie app here's a short list: Alice in Wonderland! Legend! Labyrinth! fifth element!! Waking Life is freaking amazing...Grandma's Boy, Big Lebowski, 40 year old, Darko, Blade, Wonka, Underworld, Interview with the Vampire, Real Genius, X-Files, Half-Baked, Reign Over Me, Lost Boys, Young Frankenstein, and anything done by Mel Brooks for sure! Star wars and many, many more

I love books and reading, but it takes so much time to get through things I usually don't get much of it done. Certainly not as much as I would like to. Lolita is by far my all time favorite book, but other than that I'm a fan of the Dragonlance series. LoTR and it's works make for an Epic adventure =), Vonnegut is always interesting. I love classic novels, but usually only foreign ones. The rest of my interests lie in philosophy, psychology, and sociology. Pretty boring subjects for most people so I won't go into much more listings... If you are into that sort of thing shoot me a message - always down for a solid chat about whatever you want. Additionally I hear The Guide to Getting it On and the Kama Sutra have some quality expositions. ;). I know I'm a nerd, Deal with it

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I do a lot of amazing things. Working conventions, doing volunteer work, making video games... I have many stories to share.
