Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To improve myself and the world around me.
ABOUT ME
I carry a BA in Asian Languages and Literatures and an MS in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I have every intention of doing a PhD at some point, but I have yet to determine what or where that will be.
It seems that most people identify me as being obsessive in one facet or another, but few people know me well enough to realize that I am actually obsessive about a broad range of things. I love traveling, especially overseas, and I often feel that Iâ
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that I'm here to improve the world, and that one of the best things I can do is improve myself. I believe that as a more educated, more open-minded individual, I will be in a better position to help those around me and make the world a better place,
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I don't have my own home right now, so I'm not in a position to offer up my couch, unfortunately, but I would be glad to meet up with those visiting my area and help them out. I also hope that when I travel I can teach others a bit about myself and my home so that we're all able to broaden our horizons a bit.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I love couch surfing because it gives you the chance to meet kind, open-minded around the world. I only surfed once, but I also got to go out on a CS rafting trip, and hang out with another local CSer who has become a good friend. I hope I can be more active in the future!
Interests
I love eating, traveling, exploring... I enjoy learning languages, meeting new people, and trying new things.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to just about any kind of music, drawing the line at some types of country and rap.
As for books, I'm big on fantasy.
Movies, I'm open to a wide variety: sci-fi, fantasy, action, comedy, adventure, chick flicks... No horror, though...what can I say? I'm weak.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's not overly amazing, but one of my most vivid memories is sitting atop the Great Wall of China at the age of 18, and calming myself to enjoy the moment, and realizing how far I had come at my relative young age...and I felt wonderful. I remember the dark green of the mountains and the deteriorating wall below me, and a gentle breeze, and squinting a bit into the sun, and the pride of wearing my Peiking University t-shirt...and watching the Great Wall snake over endless mountains into the distance...nothing compares.
Teach, Learn, Share
A lot of people in this world are prejudiced, whether against a nation or a religion or what have you. We're swayed by the media and those around us, but traveling opens our eyes up and helps us see how people all over the world are just like us, and that we can't be held responsible for what our governments do. Instead of looking at the grand scale, narrow your scope to look at individuals. You will find most people are inherently good.
