Hi there CouchSurfers! Welcome to the homepage of this veteran traveler who has visited 60+ countries! For expats an easy pronunciation, you can call me Timo🤓

I’ve been living in Zhengzhou for more than 15 years and consider it my second hometown. I’m proud of its 3,600-year history and the rapid development of modern industries. Welcome and trust you will find the surprises by exploring the city!

Currently I am working for a Chinese technology enterprise based in South Africa and Kenya, engaged in sales and training for solar photovoltaic and energy storage business. I will return to Zhengzhou time to time for holidays and some business trips. When I am at home, I’ll enable the dates to be available on CS to host and/or hang out.

As a traveller like you, I also have many stories that happened during my travels. I finished a 423-day world trip in 2017, a 2,500 km bicycle trip alone in the summer vacation when I was in the university, a 20,000 km self-driving tour in Tibetan and Northwestern part of China in 2022, and more. As of February 2024, I have traveled to 60 countries in Pan Asia-Middle East-Europe, Africa, and North America. I learned more about the CS culture during the trips and felt the world much more clearly. THERE IS NO RIGHT OR WRONG CULTURE AND IDEOLOGY, ONLY DIFFERENT.

Also, I comprehend that it’s not easy for us travelers sometimes. We have to deal with the troubles, try to get rid of someone unfriendly, manage to reach more destinations. But it’s true that after above all, our curiosity to explore the world never ends!

Therefore, I’d like to meet real CSers who can understand the CS culture and follow the community rules well. BTW, 🏳️‍🌈 are warmly welcome!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In my summer holiday in 2013, I was riding bicycle from Zhengzhou(Central China) to Shenyang(Northeastern China) alone. The total way is about 2500KM and it cost me 21 days.
And lost 10kg weight after that.😌
And got fat back 1 month later.😂
在2013年大三暑假，我从郑州骑单车到沈阳，2500KM，历时21天，瘦了20斤。然后一个月以后又胖回来了。

I have a strong sense of rhythm, and I can easily play every piece of music I listened to on the piano without music score.
But I never learned how to play piano. It's just a hobby.
