About Me
Hello world! My English name is Cher. I chose “Cher” as my English name cuz its translation is same with my Chinese name “Xue”. I come from China and now I’m studying my graduate counseling program in Boulder Colorado. I love traveling and I have traveled several places in China. But it’s my first time to live in the United States and travel here. I’m so excited about my adventure in the U.S..
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For me, Couchsurfing is not just about finding a place to stay; it's about forging connections with individuals who share a passion for cultural exchange and a curiosity about the world. In a globalized society, it's easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Couchsurfing provides an avenue to break free from the ordinary and delve into the extraordinary tapestry of human experiences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2023, I challenged the Gobi no-man’s desert hiking 108 kilometers in 4 days and 3 nights in Dunhuang, which is north part of China. I passed through Gobi, desert, Yardang, canyon, and saline-alkali soil, among other terrains.
Teach, Learn, Share
As a student immersed in mindfulness-based transpersonal psychology in Boulder, I bring a unique perspective on well-being and mindfulness practices. I'm not just seeking a place to stay; I'm eager to share insights, host discussions, and perhaps even facilitate brief sessions during our time together. On the flip side, I'm a devoted learner, always seeking to absorb the local culture, traditions, and stories wherever I go. Beyond the exchange of knowledge, I'm thrilled to share the flavors of my Chinese heritage through authentic dishes and stories. If you believe, like I do, that Couchsurfing is a canvas for creating connections through teaching, learning, and sharing, I can't wait to meet and collaborate with you during my stay.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m a Chinese international student currently pursuing a mindfulness-based transpersonal psychology program in Boulder. I come bearing the gift of Chinese culture and cuisine. As a passionate cook, I'd love to share the flavors of authentic Chinese dishes with you, from the bold spices of Sichuan to the subtle tastes of Cantonese cuisine. Beyond the kitchen, I offer insights into Chinese traditions, festivals, and daily life, fostering cultural exchange. Additionally, I'm happy to help with Mandarin language practice and share my knowledge of mindfulness and well-being from my studies. With an easygoing and friendly nature, I'm excited about creating memorable experiences and meaningful connections.
