About Me
Hello! I’m Alan BI, a researcher with a passion for cross-cultural communication. When traveling, I prefer immersing myself in local life, like visiting museums, chatting with residents, and experiencing the unique customs of each place. I’m happy to share insights about my culture and eager to learn about yours!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The reason I’m here on Couchsurfing is my passion for cross-cultural communication. As someone who values genuine interactions over just checking off landmarks, I want to meet locals and fellow travelers, exchange thoughts about our different backgrounds, and see the world through each other’s eyes. This platform feels like the perfect place to turn strangers into friends.
Interests
I enjoy hiking in scenic trails, exploring independent bookstores and coffee shops in different cities, and cooking simple local dishes I’ve learned during my travels. I’m always up for joining impromptu walks or small gatherings with new friends.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite movie of all time is Jackie Chan’s Police Story. It’s the perfect mix of heart-pounding action and genuine humor that only Jackie can pull off. I’m obsessed with how he does all his own stunts, like the iconic scene sliding down the mall chandelier with no protection. And you can feel the raw intensity and dedication. Beyond the thrilling fights, I love that his character isn’t a perfect hero; he’s clumsy, stubborn, and fights for justice with pure grit.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hiked the trails of Buda Hills at sunrise, wandering through ancient forests to reach a viewpoint that overlooked the entire city’s red rooftops and the winding Danube. I also visited the historic Széchenyi Thermal Bath, soaking in the mineral-rich waters while admiring the stunning Neo-Baroque architecture. A highlight was trying homemade chimney cake from a street vendor near Fisherman’s Bastion, and it is crispy on the outside, sweet and warm inside, paired with a cup of local coffee.
What I Can Share with Hosts
During my stay, I’m happy to lend a hand with any small tasks, like walking your dog, watering plants, helping with light housework, or even running a quick errand if you need it. I can also share travel tips from my own trips, and if you’re interested in my native language, I’d be glad to teach you some basic phrases for fun.
