About Me

CURRENT MISSION

»Live and leave a trace.«.

ABOUT ME

Žiga Vavpotič is an entrepreneur, a university student of economy, international relations, and human resources management.
He was born on 14th December 1984 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He started planning his life goals already in primary school after having visited Japan as a representative of a Slovenian primary school, and thus having met “the big world«. From that time on, his life has been going on with a dizzy pace.
Žiga has numerous interests, however he is particularly focused on the youth issues. He founded the Institute for the Youth as early as he attended the Bežigrad Grammer School. Today, he runs his own business, cooperates with several organizations on international youth programmes, runs the Slovenian office of Hakes International together with Monika Bizjak, and is a director of the Socius Business Club. Beside that, he is a regular contributor to the Radio of Slovenia, a co-initiator of the Economic Forum founded by the University of Ljubljana – the Faculty of Law, a founder of the online Univerza za življenje (University for life), a board member of the Eco Ventures International, and a co-ordinator for Slovenia for the Salzburg Global Seminar, the Youth Employment Summit, and the Ecademy Slovenia.
Žiga was awarded Unesco Youth Ambassador for his successful international activities. In 2004, he became the youngest member of the Microsoft Office Information Worker Board of the Future initiated by Bill Gates, and was also a columnist on the Global Youth Voice issues for The Kansas City Star Newspaper. In 2000, he became the youngest member of Mensa Slovenia.
Having been granted several scholarships for his work, Žiga could afford to have perfected his knowledge not only in the country but also abroad, and has been welcomed by several governments as a consultant on the youth issues. He is member of several organizations.
