About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Raise Human Awareness

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Salzburg, which is also Mozart’s birthplace (yes, I’m proud of it). Besides that, it’s the most beautiful city I know.
In addition to my university degrees in Political Science, Sociology and Spanish I put a lot of time into studying Philosophy, Psychology, Music, Painting, Acting, History, Economy, Religion, Meditation and Spirituality. Why? Maybe because I always wanted to understand life as a whole.
This motivation also took me to distant countries and inspiring personalities. In 2007 I decided to share my thoughts with the world and started a website (www.siegfriedtrebuch.com). (At the moment, there is only a German version. Sorry! An English translation is planned.)

PHILOSOPHY

There’s nothing, you can’t be, have or do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I always disliked impersonal hotels and their exaggerated prices. I wanted to get in touch with the locals and see, what life is like in other countries.
CS connects people, reduces costs and makes travelling more exciting. Everywhere I go, there are people who open the doors to their private world to somebody they’ve probably never seen before. What a crazy yet wonderful idea! And it works.
Instead of watching the world from outside, you actually get to experience the world from inside – plus it saves you a lot of money. So, how do I participate in CS?
Well, I host and I surf.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined CS in June 2007. Since then, I surfed loads of couches and hosted people from around the globe. It has been a great experience so far, so I keep on doing it.

Interests

I look forward to discussing one or more of these topics:
1. You
2. Travelling
3. 2012
4. Free Energy
5. Crop Circles
6. UFOs

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in NYC, my friends John, Adam and I invented a game that we called skyscraper hopping. We chose a skyscraper and the challenge was to get on the roof of it. One of them was the MetLife building on Park Avenue. We dressed up nicely with suits and ties to get through the security. After hopping from elevator to elevator we reached 82nd floor. No more elevator from there. Then we took the fire stairs to continue moving upwards. A few floors later, no fire stairs anymore. Just a pull down ladder and a roof window. Since I was the tallest of us, I pulled down the ladder, climbed it, opened the window and stepped on the roof. What I saw was just amazing. All these huge buildings so close, I thougt I could grab them with my hands. The sun was reflected in the shimmering metal top of Chrysler Building. This was the most incredible view I had over the skyline of New York. One that not so many people are able to see from that particular perspective.

Mind my advice: Don't try that today! They'd probably take you to a rather uncomfortable place in Cuba. ;-)
