About Me

CURRENT MISSION

less human doing more human being

ABOUT ME

I like to travel, see new places, meet new people. I enjoy living in the great outdoors. I'm from London but currently live (and work as a volunteer) in southern Spain. I play guitar and love music. I'm a monetary reformer and have done lots of mad jobs - often for only a few weeks or months...volunteer work with the UN, clowning, performing, community/local economy work. Interested in transition cultures and the great outdoors.

PHILOSOPHY

Deep, yet ultimately shallow.
Mostly I like traveling and meeting new people.
Sometimes I enjoy staying at home all by myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

doing/being lots of the above

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Wonderful. I spent my first two nights in Tenerife with Tom, a friendly guy living in La Laguna, and I'd be delighted to return the favour sometime. I also had a lovely couple of days with couchsurfing friends in Santander. While I lived in Leicester (2006-11) I hosted several lovely couchsurfers. Fabulouso.

Music, Movies, and Books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

probably working towards the elections in East Timor - being there to share election day was deeply powerful and moving.
But living in rural Zambia for two years and India (for a year) too...

Teach, Learn, Share

lots and lots to learn and to share. I learn Spanish and enjoy intercambio time with Spanish-speaking people. I've been an English teacher, campaigner and activist in many ways. Although I know I have lots and lots to learn, I'm quite confident about some things, e.g. growing spinach and potatoes and the causes and solutions to the debt-based money system.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, El Salvador, France, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Italy, Malawi, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Timor-Leste (East Timor), Turkey, Zimbabwe

Countries I’ve Lived In

India, Ireland, Spain, United Kingdom, Zambia
