About Me
ABOUT ME
I am a writer and currently am paid to draft documents for a legal firm, though I write comics and prose stories in my free time. I'm pretty quiet around people I don't know well, but an easy way to get me to open up is to talk about books or comics. Once you get me going, I'm sorry. There really is no "off" switch and you will have to deal with the consequences yourself. Currently the topics of most frequent regret are Pokemon and Nordic folklore.
PHILOSOPHY
Honesty, friendship, and self-improvement in whatever ways one might find meaningful, be it physical or mental or emotional exertion. This is probably not thought-out enough to be a proper philosophy, but it's working for me at the moment.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have surfed primarily for accommodation while selling armor at anime conventions. When I lived with David, I experienced hosting. Right now, unfortunately, I can't continue to host.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've only surfed a few times, but it's been fantastic. Friendliness and generosity seem to be standard qualities in hosts. ^^
Interests
I like to read but don't have nearly enough time to read all of the things I want to. This is partially due to the fact that I spend entirely too much time online -- TVTropes and Homestuck are the primary detractors of my free time.I love fantasy and sci-fi -- particularly Anne McCaffrey, Neil Gaiman, and Terry Pratchett, but I'm always looking for reccommendations. I also just got into the Dune books. Beyond books, I watch a shameful amount of cartoons.I also do music. I sing, play piano, play oboe badly, and can fake tinwhistle a bit.I've also picked up costuming, and make things ranging from Renaissance Festival gowns to superhero cosplay.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to operatic power metal, folk music, Irish music, alt rock, prog rock, mostly, though my work playlists range from the inexplicable to the deeply embarrassing. I like movies but have a hard time sitting still through them unless I'm absolutely riveted or laughing my head off. Books? Yes. All of them.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I traveled through Ireland on my own for a few days in 2011. It was beautiful and mind-blowing and honestly kind of exhausting -- and I met so many people!
Teach, Learn, Share
I know the basics of knitting and sewing and would be happy to help out with any projects. I've worked as an editor before and can proofread school projects. My Japanese is rusty, but I'm always happy to find opportunities to practice.
