About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Raising my kids with my wonderful companion and figuring out and planning my next steps!

ABOUT ME

I'm a mechanist, a restless traveler, eager to explore the world and its inhabitants.
I enjoy to talk and discuss different points of view trying to be as open minded as possible.
I have trust in the fundamental good-will of beings according to their peculiar natures.
I feel at ease in small group of people or in groups where a purpose is defined.
I love to drive and big and wild landscapes are my favorite destinations.
I have a tendency to be sarcastic and try to always find the bright side of life. I love to laugh loud and do things I feel like.. like jumping in the water from high rocks, roll down on grass and such.

PHILOSOPHY

Do what I like and not what I am supposed to do... that mainly applies to job and the direction you want your life to go.
I am truly convinced that helping each other is the best way to go. Can't stand when people act like jerks and I'm not really like going to shut up if I think a behavior is not acceptable.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted people both in the Netherlands and in Italy.
I've been travelling extensively throughout Europe, especially in Scandinavia using only CouchSurfing.
I had so many intense experiences with the wonderful people from this community that I often find myself telling stories about them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met great ppl all over Europe.
The sensation of having somebody waiting for you, opening the door of their own home and in the end their heart is amazing.
I very often feel this connection, this familiarity with the girls and the guys I met thru this website that goes well beyond a couple of days spent together.
Sometimes I felt the bond that our species too often forgets.
I very often wonder how a world made by people who trust each other would be like. :)

Interests

People and society. But also physics, logic, technology, informatics, environment, cars and driving, engines, alternative fuels, books, movies, people, women, stories, adventures, diving, music, travel, stars & astronomy, tales...

(not necessarly in this order)

Just don't talk to me about soccer.

Music, Movies, and Books

1984, 2001 a space odissey. I loved Baricco's books (Italian author). I love to ask people about the books they loved, and see the light the shines in their eyes when they describe something they loved.
I usually like introspective movies.. and the weird ones, like some Japanese ones without much sense at all. :) I also love anime and lot of stuff I can't even summarize in this little box. Put me in front of a screen with a movie on and I would get stuck till the end. I get really involved too.. so if they are funny I would probably laugh loud.. and loud also applies to my screams for horror movies... and I gotta say I don't like movies with a sad ending, especially the ones about murders and such.. they really drag me down and can make me loose my sleep for days.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Enjoying the breeze of a Latvian night, on a small wood pier, in the middle of an astonishing calm lake, full moon shining over. The water was so still it seemed a incredible huge mirror, duplicating the moon and the black shadows of the trees.
It was really like having two full moons.I had to ask Elina to pinch me, 'cos my brain had a hard time accepting the reality of the whole thing.

Fishing by the Norwegian coast at a friend's grandparents' house, on a tiny boat, while the long sunset was painting the sky and the sea of purple.

Blocking a train full of nuclear waste by placing a old armored truck on the rails :D

I fix computers.
