ABOUT ME
Hello~My name is Ziyan. You can also call me Emily :).

As an atypical Chinese girl, I love communicating with people, hanging out and traveling around by myself.

I've been to Japan, Thailand, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, France, Greece, Netherlands, Iceland and Finland, my favorite country.

I see traveling as a way to relax, to refresh, and to send interesting opinions about beauty&love, and to remove strange misunderstanding between people. Just love the feeling contributing my little effort on that.

At the end of 2016, I came to Finland as an exchange student in the University of Tampere. It's the second time I set my foot on this brilliant and mysterious Nordic country.

WHY FINLAND?
Finland is a such "boring" country that I can only spend my time on endless beautiful lakesides, impressive vast forests covered by snow, freshly-minted baked sausages and bread, and also I have to chat with all the friendly Finns who are generally willing to help put a foreigner at ease. Though Finland is so "boring", I just can't hold myself from being attracted and fascinated by she ;).

MY LIFE IN BEIJING
I was born in Beijing. I once majored in Chinese Literature, and then transferred to Advertising, just for enjoying exploring some tiny and lyrical beauty from daily life.
After graduation, I get a job as a copywriter in advertising company. My job gives me many chances to convey my attitude of life to people, allows me to clear my mind and keep being myself.

I AM A LOVER OF SPORT
I love many kinds of sports: basketball, skating, skiing, running, biking, jazz dancing, swimming... hope I can learn rock climbing someday.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am keen on hiking and traveling. This year during my exchange period in Finland, I plan to travel around Europe and enjoy some cultural treatures in all my dream countries. Looking forward to my adventure!

Music, Movies, and Books

For some reason I really into reading sarcastic stuff...for example a constant interest in Maugham(Do anyone love 'The Moon And Six Pence' too?) and Keigo Higashino...I also like to read Gabriel Garca Mrquez..George Owell..Lu Xun...

I do not have a favourite type of music. I can listen to everything. These years I'm kind of into classical music...especially Chopin's Nocturne.

I like movies that could show me a different culture and world. Also I enjoy suspense and thriller movies : p

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This winter i've jumped into the Arctic Ocean for three times after sauna at Bugøynes, a lovely place in Norway. It's really freezing and also amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know China, and I've visited some countries with the heart, I can share my stories/experience/emotions.

Typically I'm open to everything. I hope I can dig into beautiful and interesting things in the world as much as I can.

I always try to be a clear-headed person, instead of making progress aimlessly and blindly. I want to be the one who has his own independent thoughts.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I hope you can ask questions about China as much as possible. Because that's what I really get an intimate knowledge of.

If you want to learn about some basic daily expression in Chinese, I would be glad to teach you. I have got little teaching experience in a Finnish primary school.

And if you are interested in PS, I can teach you how to use Photoshop to edit an image or to use photo-editing apps to beautify your own appearance.
