Overview
About Me
I grew up in a far western suburb of Chicagoland and went to college for Japanese and Art History. After college I lived in Chicago and worked in fundraising at a non-profit art center while making and writing about art on the side. Living with a host family in Japan in high school gave me a voracious appetite for understanding more about the world, so I love traveling when I get the chance.
Currently I'm living in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a mid-sized city, making art and supporting local artists through my work.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've couch surfed half a dozen times and had a great experience nearly every time. Each host was wonderfully hospitable and showed me parts of their cities I never would have seen otherwise. I'm excited to do it again soon.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Anything with synthesizers, a lot of Swedish and British pop, Kpop, and early 80's British music. Lately I've been getting into a lot of traditional Greek music as well.
Movies: Billy Elliot's my favorite and Studio Ghibli films never disappoint.
Books: "A True Novel" and "Pachinko" are some recent favorites.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
On a couchsurfing trip I ended up playing in a volleyball game in Council Bluffs, Iowa in the rain. "The Final Countdown" started playing on the radio in the rain just as we run the game. It couldn't have been more dramatic.
