About Me

I joined CouchSurfing more than 10 years ago, and recently came to realize that my profile hasn't been updated for years. I know, it's horrifying that the twenty year old me has been posing as 25 year old me, 28 year old me, all the way into me of my thirties, though I haven't really been that active here since those early days. Even so, as my thoughts wandered down memory lane recently, I came to the conclusion that I couldn't let the words of the young and slightly more immature me represent me anymore. For better or worse, here is a fresh update from 2023.

I'm just going to skip the whole part where I describe myself as a kind-hearted and adventurous human being who likes to meet new people and all that stuff (I guess I just didn't though). Point being that I kind of take it for granted that we all are those things since we are on here. I think the most interesting parts about me are things that I wouldn't really be able to describe - as with anyone, they need to be experienced by meeting me in person, because honestly, I dont think I can accurately imagine these things sitting here.

What I can say though is that I was born and raised in Oslo, before my studies took me further north to Trondheim, as well as to UCSB in Santa Barbara, California. After five years in hell, I returned with only one goal...no, just kidding (hope you take the reference).. no, after five years I returned to Oslo to truly begin adulthood - and here I am. I have explored different parts of this world, but a grand chunk remains and I look forward to the rest.

For the rest, I guess we'll have to meet :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This part was written by twenty year old me. His optimism is uncontested, so I'll let this section remain untainted :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate by giving the people of this world the opportunity to befriend a person who will fill your life with laughter and music, in both literal and metaphorical sense, through surfing and hosting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

By now, I've both surfed, hosted and just met up for a beer. It's been great meeting people from different countries and I can't emphasize enough how glad I am for joining this huge community of awesomeness.

Music, Movies, and Books

This section just had to die pending a rewrite. The twenty year old me wrote few good things here, but also a whole lot of atrocious references to pop culture that simply had to be retired from existence. He did get one thing write though: I should have read more classics instead of re-reading the entire Harry Potter series seven times.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing is a strong word that the twenty year old me took very lightly (watching someone eat a Big Mac in one bite). So I will have to ponder on this one. Maybe the 40 year old me will be wise enough to choose one of many.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Monaco, Netherlands, Oman, Poland, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Norway, United States
