Overview
About Me
I am a respectful, responsible and artistic 18 year old living in Homer, Alaska. I was born in Homer and have lived in Kachemak Bay for over half of my life.
I graduated from high school the spring of 2018, and I am going to travel to and through the contiguous USA starting early January and ending in the late fall of 2019. I will be riding trains down the West Coast in search for a meaningful and rewarding volunteer opportunity. My goal for this trip is to learn and grow hands-on, mental, and emotional skills, meet and collaborate with new people and see new sides of the world.
I am not a follower of any faith, but I would consider myself a spiritual person. I love to express my spirituality through daily practice of music and other art forms. I write and produce music in my spare time, along with preform and collaborate with my peers. I grew up in relatively rural areas but I would love to get out in a bigger community so that I can learn and collaborate with new people.
I love to work with kids and people from all origins and ages.
I am available to email/text/call most of the time!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm traveling the west coast this winter through the summer and a friend suggested this site to me! The concept seems really neat. I'm also a musician and a wwoofer so if you know any cool opportunities let me know. I'll most likely be down.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't have a favorite genre but I love rock and pop derivatives as well as experimental and alternative. I don't try to use genre's as labels or anything, if it sounds good it sounds good! I make music on the DAW Ableton Live 9. I do covers, originals, strange experimental lofi beats, all kinds of craziness. I also enjoy jamming, collaborating, live music, slam poetry, aaarrrrtttt.
I'm not a movie nut but I love films that make me laugh and cry. Books are awesome as well, I'm a hoarder at the moment. Before I leave for the states I will have to thin down my collection entirely. I enjoy books philosophy and science, arts of all ages, music theory, spirituality in any sense (most books it seems?) , sci-fi of most kinds, and onward. Book I’m reading right now is “Way of the Peaceful Warrior”
Current artistic ventures include making music and uploading it to soundcloud along with some painting, mod-podge (some people call it decoupage), and other collaborative works. Artists I've been tuning into to are billie eilish, billie holiday, still woozy, crumb, peach pit, astrological, frankie cosmos, and I listen to new music almost every day so it's always changing. Podcasts that I enjoy are the moth and savvy psychologist
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I only get to pick one?
Last winter I made a really strange out-of-my-comfort-zone music video with a New York based artist Jamie Warren

Teach, Learn, Share
I'm going to be traveling with my ukulele, and I am all for teaching/learning/playing music. My philosophy is that we all have an artsy artist inside of ourselves. They're just waiting to be let out to explore the abnormalities of our surroundings.
What I Can Share with Hosts
a smile, magic music, chores, cooking, dog petting (if you have one)
