About Me
Hi! I'm from the US, lived in both Germany and France, and hitchhiked and couchsurfed my way around 16 countries so far. I thrive off of adventure and spontaneity. I normally travel in a pretty rugged way, with little planning and little money. I make due with the help of CS and PB&Js, haha! I go and go until I can't anymore, sometimes leading to me sleeping in odd places (i.e. napping in the Louvre, another time on the grass of Mirabell Palace Gardens, spending the night in a subway station.. you get the picture)! Flexibility, freedom and openness allow for the best memories and the best travels. It's safe to say, I'm always up for an adventure! I want to experience life as a local and truly experience the culture when I travel somewhere new, and CS has been perfect for this. I've been shown some incredible hidden gems and secrets along the way too! If you’re reading this tell me about your fav hidden gem you found traveling in your request. I’m currently the Director of Marketing for a tech company, a cofounder of a Vegan startup, and owner of a marketing agency. I truly love creating things! I studied International Business and Marketing at Murray State University, Universität Regensburg, and EMLYON Business school. Enough about that, though!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the people I meet as much as the places I travel to. Connecting with someone, whether through CS or somewhere else along with way, truly impacts your travel experience. I try to meet and stay with people who can show me a new perspective because they have different backgrounds, experiences or interests. There is no better time than traveling to broaden your horizons (both figuratively and literally), and I try to take full advantage of that. The kindness and generosity I have experienced while traveling from fellow travelers, CSers and strangers has changed my life, and I always try to pay it forward.
I’m finally able to host now that I have my own apartment, no roommates, and in a city people travel to. My door is open, and you’re welcome to join me on an adventure!
Interests
I love to try new foods, read, play video games, go to the bar, hike, camp, drink good beer, and do anything new or exciting!
I'm fascinated by ancient history, philosophy, language, etc.
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite fiction book is The Name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss
My favorite TV show is probably Game of Thrones
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Rode a bike around one of the Aryn Islands off the coast of Ireland. Alone, I explored a 2,000 year old Celtic ruin built on the edge of a cliff, the sea beating against the rocks, surrounded by the greenest grass and the bluest skies and a little piece of history.
Climbed to the top of a 14,000ft mountain in the middle of the night to watch the sun rise.
I worked in a circus as an entertainer for 2 years before I left for college. I did aerial silks among other things. I miss it dearly.
