Overview
About Me
I'm from the Colorado mountains and I studied behavioral neuroscience and psychology at an East Coast liberal arts college. Both big influencers on my personality and perspective... I've left academia (for the moment) to live in new places and transmit home stories of adventure.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's cheesy but I'm always excited for the local perspective. Why not get in touch with the local community and meet new people? There's quite literally nothing to lose.

Music, Movies, and Books
"His Dark Materials" by Phillip Pullman is my favorite book... I keep picking up "Anna Karenina" intermittently; the pose is incredible but I move too frequently and leave by (heavy) copy behind...
Not into movies recently, but niche TV shows on the topics of feminism, race, the sci-fi genre, and comedy.
This year I listen to a lot of music from Korea - 3rd wave K-Pop and more - and reggaeton, as suggested by my Spanish students :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Doubtful Europeans will count this one but feels like a big step as an American to be living abroad. At a time when all my peers started careers, I just moved to a place where I knew no one. Diverging from my preset American education is new and exciting!
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach English in Spain right now. As an American, this also means explaining a lot of the American Brand a.ka. "what is going on in the U.S. / why???????
I'm always up for discussions on history, culture, class structure, government politics, art, etc. I'll never pretend to know it all but I'll share my thoughts and be open to ways of life from around the world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Very much rocking the aesthetic of "American Abroad/Fish out of water". That means a lot of things are new and exciting to me but I promise I approach them all with an open mind. I love more information than less, I've worked my share of "down in the mud jobs", I prefer cozy intimate nights but also love exploring. I'm young and not wise but I'm not afraid to try new things.
