About Me

Welcome to my couch surfer's page! I'm thrilled to share a little bit about myself and my journey.

Hi there! I'm a recent graduate nurse who was born and raised in the picturesque town of Black Mountain, North Carolina, right outside of Asheville, NC. For the past five years, I've been living in the Chapel Hill/Raleigh region, pursuing my nursing education.

I've always had a strong passion for caring for others, which led me to pursue a career in nursing. Now, with my freshly earned degree in hand, I'm about to embark on a new chapter of my life. Soon, I'll be heading to the golden shores of San Diego, California, where I've secured a nursing job awaiting the granting of my California nursing license.

This moment in my life is both exhilarating and nerve-wracking. I find myself in an in-between place, transitioning from my home of twenty-three years to an entirely new and unfamiliar city. The prospect of exploring the world and meeting new people through couch surfing fills me with excitement and a touch of trepidation, but I believe it's an excellent way to enrich my journey.

During my time in North Carolina, I've been surrounded by the beauty of nature, hiking the scenic trails of the Appalachian Mountains. The memories of those tranquil moments will stay with me as I move forward into the bustling urban landscape of San Diego. I'm eager to immerse myself in the vibrant culture, explore the coastal beauty, and embrace the diversity that California has to offer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I find myself in this exciting yet uncertain in-between phase of life, I have left my house of two years and am determined to make my way to San Diego. The idea of relying solely on online housing searches worries me, as I understand that finding the perfect place to call home can be challenging from a distance.

Couch surfing, to me, represents a remarkable opportunity to explore the city and its neighborhoods up close, gaining invaluable insights from locals who truly know the heartbeat of San Diego. Staying with someone for a month or even a week here and there would not only ease the burden of finding immediate housing but would also offer me the chance to connect with wonderful individuals along the way.

My goal is to immerse myself in the San Diego community, get a feel for the different neighborhoods, and experience the city's culture firsthand. I believe that genuine connections with locals are key to finding a place that feels like home and starting my journey on the right foot.

So, I'm reaching out with the hope that your kindness and hospitality might grant me the opportunity to find a welcoming home during this transitional period. I am eager to meet new people, share stories, and learn from the diverse perspectives I encounter along the way.

If you're open to hosting a fellow adventurer and new graduate nurse like me, I would be incredibly grateful for the chance to create lasting memories, gain valuable insights, and forge friendships that will undoubtedly enrich my journey to San Diego.

Thank you for considering being a part of my adventure, and I look forward to the possibilities that couch surfing can offer. Let's embark on this journey together!

Thank you for stopping by and joining me on this exciting adventure! See you soon!
