ABOUT ME

I'm 27 and working as a junior doctor (I also have an undergrad in neuroscience if you like that type of thing). I have a pretty packed life by choice, but occasionally look to unwind. I've had the travel bug for sometime now, always hoping on a plane at any opportunity for the past 8 years. Although I have my formal education, I feel I've learnt a lot more from travelling than I have from lectures.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I become settled in a place I am allowed to host, I would like to try that. For now, we can share experiences, create new memories together, become friends, and it's always handy to have a doctor about :P

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed in France, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Oz, Peru, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Nicaragua, Israel and Brazil. I have met some fantastic people so I am keen to meet many more travellers and share experiences.

I really love meeting new people and travelling, my friends usually won't join me so I just make new friends (like though this site) as there is nothing better than seeing a city/country through the eyes of someone that lives there.

Now that I have begun working, I often stay in hotels rather than couchsurf. This is more because I am often exhausted and escaping between shifts, thus don't want to be a boring surfer and want to sleep too much! That said, I still love to meet people!

I have lots of interests and they constantly change: I get hooked to new things all the time. Currently I love dancing/ I am quite the wine fanatic so if you are also a wine enthusiastic then thats great. I LOVE the water: one of my biggest passions is diving and I go whenever I can, and also love skiing.

My favourite movies are probably The Intouchables (the beautiful French masterpiece not the gangster movie), Pretty woman, Notting Hill, Love Actually, The Holiday. Yes, I realise I have a cheesy movie taste, but do occasionally enjoy some action films.

I like to read a lot, from non-fiction such as Thinking Fast and Slow, Predictably Irrational, to biographies like Jack Ma's, to absolute girly rubbish like 50 shades.

I think Alexa often wonders what is going on, when I ask her to play some classic jazz, switch to techno, chilled acoustic covers, classical or a little bit of Reggaton.

I dance salsa and bachata, so I listen to a fair amount of latin music

I've been fortunate to experience many incredible things, some of which include:
- Walking along the great wall of China
- Bamboo rafting through Thai jungles and staying with local tribes
- Visiting the Taj Mahal, India at sunrise
- Volunteering in Swaziland
- Climbing mountains in China and Peru
- Attending a geisha tea party in Kyoto, Japan
- Living on a boat and diving the Great Barrier Reef, Australia
- Watching Machu Picchu emerge from the clouds
- Visiting the bodegas in Buenos Aires, Argentina
- Skiing in Chile
- Handgliding in Rio, Brazil
- Swimming with Pigs in the Bahamas
- Volunteering in Cuba
- Volcano boarding in Nicaragua
- Sailing the San blas islands
- Diving Cenotes in mexico and the Blue hole Belize
- Canyoneering in Costa Rica
- Wandering through Petra
- Sleeping under the stars in the Sahara
- Jumping out of a plane in Mexico

And of course ... meeting wonderful couch surfers along my way!
