About Me

I'm just about to set off on a one way ticket to Europe with my girlfriend. Very excited! I love to travel and explore other cultures. Having grown up in Northern Ireland, South Carolina and various places in Scotland, I am always eager for new adventures with opportunity to meet new people. I really enjoy making connections with people from different places, as they always have such a good insight into their country and culture. Otherwise, I love to go bouldering, walking and cycling whenever possible; and to hear live music.

I can't currently take on any guests, because I am living with friends!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing provides a really lovely opportunity for building an international community of like-minded people. It is lovely to be able to make friends with people that you might not otherwise meet, and to be able to have an insight into their lives.

Interests

I really enjoy bouldering, climbing, cycling, walking, but I also love to read, listen to music, watch films, cook, plus many other things!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all sorts of music, though I particularly like house and D&B, as well as traditional folk. I love most film, though I struggle with horror movies. I like to read travel and non-fiction books mostly; though I do like Isabel Allende, Haruki Murakami, Donna Tartt etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To have been able to live and work in rural Nicaragua for 3 months was an incredible experience. It was really lovely to build friendships with the community, despite not understanding each other's language at first. Together, we were able to arrange clean, accessible drinking water to the village for the first time. I am very grateful to have been part of the project, and to have made so many wonderful connections.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to show you around where I live, and get to know you. I have a bike and scooter if you would like to borrow either, or go for a cycle with me. I don't speak other languages well, but I am always eager to learn.

Countries I’ve Visited

England, France, Ireland, Italy, Nicaragua, Scotland, Spain, Turkey, United States
