ABOUT ME

At this very moment (16:27 Thursday, 5/12/2013) I'm sitting in someone else's bed at dusk and watching my cat sleep. The noise of the crazy Istanbul seagulls is reverbarating over the Bosphorus and vibrating on the windows of this house. In the room next to me sit my flatmates, who are also my friends. They are watching television shows in different languages and everything together is creating this beautiful harmonious cacophany. I'm so content right now. It's like all these great coincidences lined up to create this exact atmosphere. If I'm relaxed and watchful enough, I can really appreciate how beautiful that is.

But this calm setting isn't always be so enjoyable to me. At times I'd be bored-- I'd want to participate in conversation with my roommates, or to get drunk, or just to be sad because sometimes being sad feels so cleansing.

My point is that I love to inundate my life with variety and change. In the process, I tend to change too. That's why instead of writing a self summary, I'm just stating what makes me perfectly happy right now. Who knows, if something profound enough happens, I could be a deeply different person tomorrow.

One of my favorite quotes from Pocahontas (but more impressively, from Heraclitus) is roughly-- No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.

Interessen

1. Mobility-- I love to move and dance and travel
2. A sense of wonderment in the utter beauty of the world as it is
3. Learning-- one of my favorite quotes is by Eartha Kitt, "I am learning all the time, the tombstone will be my diploma."
4. Water. I love drinking it. I love being around it and submerged in it. Something about vast bodies of water makes me feel at peace.
5. The ability to laugh has gotten me through some of life's disappointments and has made truly awesome moments even more unforgettable
