ABOUT ME
Nina and I are a pretty regular couple, living in Bremen Germany. After traveling quite a bit, we took a break to finish our studies, and had a daughter in that time as well :-) we are now hoping to travel more again and be able to host people as well!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfing is amazing. I believe there is no better way to travel and experience a new language, people, and culture. When Nina and I were surfing we had many moments in which we felt really lucky to experience something we knew that on our own, as "regular tourists", we never would have seen or done. Whether going deep in the forest to a secret waterfall, or finding the best hidden place for local food- there is so much that can be shared through couchsurfing. We would really like to give as much of this back as possible!
One bad thing however that we experience often is that people just send "generic" copy-paste emails, or are obviously just looking for a "free" place to stay without being in any way interested in the cultural exchange and everything that makes couchsurfing so great. We really appreciate a personal request (it is easy to tell which ones are and which ones are not!) and it is also good to know when someone cared enough to read your profile. To show that you have done this, please write "the spirit of couchsurfing" somewhere in the request that you send us ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
it is so hard to say... as far as music goes, I really love pretty much any style. But I would have to say that I most often listen to acoustic stuff... City and Colour, for example. Mainly because these are things I can attempt to play myself on guitar!
As far as books go, I don't think I could say that I have one favorite. Animal Farm by George Orwell is definitely pretty high up there, though! And my all time favorite comic is without a doubt Calvin and Hobbes.
I am more of a television show person than a movie person. Game of Thrones, Six Feet Under, The Wire... I guess you could say I am a fan of the HBO and Showtime shows, for the most part :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Snorkeling with a manatee in Egypt- that is definitely high on my list!
But the most dangerous thing, funnily enough, was probably (night) buses in Peru and Bolivia. Quite an experience!
Teach, Learn, Share
Lets exchange cultures! Words and phrases, nuances, music, food... this is another thing that makes couchsurfing so fun :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good talks, city tours, a comfy place to crash, and German beer :) especially the expanding craft brew scene in Bremen!
