About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Excercising my braaaaain! And planning my next big adventure:)
ABOUT ME
I'm a positive, adventurous, easy going person excited to explore what I can explore, learn & teach, take on new challenges, and share this with new people.
I was recently on exchange in Lyon, France working on my French, meeting lovely new people, enjoying wine and cheese, the alps, etc (I chose this location with strategy..) and enjoyed travelling around Europe in that time too!
Back in Canada I'm a hard working uni student but I keep things balanced by leading trips with our Outdoors Club, partaking in dance parties, and enjoying the live music that comes through our town. In the summer I work as a raft guide/ whitewater kayak instructor in the Ottawa Valley, come visit!
PHILOSOPHY
BE where you are.
The only limits are the ones we give ourselves.
We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I can't host at the moment but would like to in the future! In the mean time I am more than happy to meet up for a tea and talk, explore Kingston, or both:)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am so, so thankful for the Couchsurfing experiences I have had as a surfer thus far! This is a brilliant way to connect, learn, and share with others around the world.
Interests
I'm happy to be outside! I love to hike, whitewater kayak, canoe & camp, ski, swim, go for glorious bikerides in the sun, rockclimb... etc. I also really enjoy a good cup of tea, some tasty eats and a great conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm pretty easygoing when it comes to music and I love discovering new artists! Some of my favourites are Jack Johnson, Jeremy Fisher, Dan Mangan, Joni Mitchell, The Shins, The Beatles, Phoenix, Ingrid Michaelson, Fiest, Blink 182, indie folk bands galore & anything on the Wilno Blues Band set list!!!
Movies.. I get in trouble because there's too many I haven't seen - give me your recommendations and I'll add them to the list! I do really love La Vita e Bella, Across the Universe, Mean Girls, Into the Wild..
I love reading, especially children's books apparently - The Little Prince and Harry P are my favourites.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This year I skied my biggest mountain (Alpe d'Huez) and paddled my hardest river (class 5 on the Upper Gauley, WV)! They were both absolutely incredible, exciting, life changing experiences that motivate me to keep taking on adventure sport challenges! Ahhh:)
My time in France - I am so happy to be here and am incredibly thankful for this opportunity to live & learn abroad!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm happy to share recipes and stories, anything I can tell you about Canada, maybe some new music? I love to skate, swim and kayak too and would be happy to help in those respects!
I'm looking to practice my French! I also really want to learn to play the flute, specifically just the notes for "Sitting On the Dock of the Bay." I'm also super keen to learn about the regions I'm visiting from the people that live there, tell me about your country/ town/ neighbourhood/ culture and I'd be so happy:)
