ABOUT ME

Hi,

My name is Lorenzo, but most people call me Zo (Z-oh). I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, but I currently reside in Phoenix, AZ. I am a Middle School teacher, and very proud to be doing work that I find to be fulfilling.

I'm a very open person, and I like to make friends with everyone. I like to cook food, especially Mexican food. I like to party, and be in good company, and I also like to take it easy, try to enjoy some of the simple things that life has to offer.

PHILOSOPHY

I feel that no one should ever be discriminated against regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. We, as a society, have to remember that the human race may come in different shapes, sizes, and colors, but we are deserving of equality. I also feel that no matter how bad you think things may be, that in the end, things always work out as they should.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope that I can use Couchsurfing to bridge cultural divides, and make new friends. I also wish to visit places that no one in my family has ever seen, to be a pioneer of sorts.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined Couchsurfing a while ago back in college, but I never quite got into it. Now, I hope to revitalize my enthusiasm for travel by using it to its fullest extent.

Interests

My hobbies are going to the movies, basketball, going to plays, reading a thought-provoking book, and just kicking back, and enjoying some coffee. I also like to go to sporting events, watch great, intense TV shows, spend time with my family and friends, and sometimes, just cruise somewhere.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm really lame when it comes to listing my favorite individual artists, but I do, for the most part, enjoy all kinds of music; I like rap, hip-hop, rock, alternative, classical, etc.

Some of my favorite books are: The Chocolate War, 1984, The Giver, America: The Book, I am America and so can You, Crime and Punishment, The Odyssey, Volpone, The Chronicles of Narnia, Fahrenheit 451, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm the first person in my family to receive a Bachelor's and Master's degree. I've seen both the East and West coasts of the United States.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm the first person in my family to do a lot of things, and see a lot of places, and I have to say that ambition is not the key. Respect and humility are the major drivers of this success, and--I believe--it is also the key to making our world a better place.
