About Me

Hello all!

First off just to clarify we are a couple seeking a couch for two :)

We both have dual nationality - Zoi is Greek/Scottish (34 years - fluent in English) and Nahuel is Argentinean/Italian (24 years - fluent in Spanish). Zoi was born in Greece and grew up in Scotland and Australia. Nahuel was born and raised in Argentina (and had Italian grandparents).

We met in 2013 in Argentina and initially lived in London and then later in Edinburgh. We are getting married on the 5th January 2018 in Argentina after which we plan to embark on a super slow long 'honeymoon' across the Mediterranean.

Education wise, Zoi attained a Masters of Science in Poverty Reduction from SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London) in 2016 and Nahuel attained a degree in BA International Relations from LSE (London School of Economics, University of London) earlier this year in 2017.

Work experience wise most recently, Zoi worked as an Executive Assistant for the University of Edinburgh. Zoi is also a qualified yoga teacher and enjoys giving classes and sharing the tools of yoga and meditation with others. Furthermore, Zoi is a qualified English language teacher and has years of experience teaching in China, Greece and Argentina. Nahuel worked in the tourism industry promoting Scotland as a destination to the Latin American market.

We are very interested in permaculture and sustainable living. After everything we have learned, we try to reduce our carbon footprint and eat organically and seasonally and by virtue try to limit our meat consumption, and where possible our dairy consumption (although we are not strict with this. We understand the need to adapt to our situation and are more than happy to follow suit in the cultures we are in).

Above all, we are in love with travelling and before joining forces as a couple, Zoi travelled extensively in Europe, India, South East Asia and Australia. She lived in Beijing, China for 1 year. Nahuel travelled extensively in Bolivia and Peru and lived in the USA. Together as a pair, they have travelled throughout the entirety of Central America, Argentina and recent trips have been to Brazil and Tunisia.

We are an easy-going, trustworthy, friendly couple who are immensely grateful for your time in considering hosting us :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are both very interested in having an authentic experience and we think couchsurfing is a perfect fit for us. It means much more to us than saving money, rather we see it as an invaluable opportunity to meet awesome people and to experience other cultures. We plan to pay forward the generosity and kindness we may experience on Couchsurfing when we have the opportunity to host people ourselves in the future for sure!

Music, Movies, and Books

We listen to a lot of music, ranging from Latin America sounds to jazz to folk to reggae.

We enjoy watching movies and documentaries. We loved 'Captain Fantastic' with Viggo Mortensen and the documentary 'Seed: The Untold Story' which we found very inspiring.

We are both avid readers mostly of non fiction but couldnt pick a favourite so instead we can tell you what we are currently reading! Zoi is reading 'Wild From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail' by Cheryl Strayed and Nahuel 'Drinking Molotov Cocktails with Gandhi' by Mark Boyle.

Teach, Learn, Share

We will share our trust, our time, and our friendship. But most importantly, we are certain couchsurfing will teach us to look outside of our circle of friends and family to find goodness in strangers. After all, we believe strangers are just friends we just haven’t met yet.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Zoi speaks fluent English and Nahuel fluent Spanish, we would be more than happy to share our languages. Furthermore Zoi would be delighted to share yoga practice or meditation with you.
