Overview
About Me
I am an aspirant human in perpetual change. For the last 8 years traveling has constituted the greatest part of my life. I wished to be a kind nomad photo-reporter, to learn from people, to enrich my self, to be free. Now I am working as a photojournalist, I follow the issues that I care the most and I try to enjoy the wholeness of life in every possible moment.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
CS is a big part of the sharing-economy philosophy, the idea that we can prosper and be happy while sharing and giving, instead of being selfish and greedy. I have been in so many people's houses & in each one of them I found a world in its own, a brilliant fragment of the wholeness of life, from Africa to China, all the way through Europe and the Middle East. So when I temporary "own" a place to host I offered it, and when I am surfing I try to share with people my stories and my enthusiasm, and maybe help someone bring down some of the walls which prevent them to see a shining life landscape.
Interests
I am interested in human life. Culture, traditions, languages, rituals. I have a fascination for the ancient cultures that spring from the Middle East. My interests often translates into my projects, I followed migration and environmental issues because I feel very much this issues. I am really interested in all kind of mysticism, from yogis to sufis, buddhist and shamanic practices to feel the eternal self, the unity the everything, the capacity to master the matter with the mind.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I embarked in two adventurous overland journeys to inspire people in traveling in harmony with the nature and reduce their carbon footprint by avoiding flying, meat consumption and plastic usage. The first one has been an overland hitchhiking no-money journey from the Netherlands to Brazil, using only sustainable energy and crossing the ocean with a sailing boat.
I wrote it, as a book "I passeggeri della Terra" - http://www.nicolazolin.it/passeggeridellaterra
The second one has been an overland adventure from Italy to Nepal through the Middle East, reporting people’s life from all the countries I have been traveling in.
