About Me

Для русскоязычных сёрферов - Лёша. Не Саша и не Алекс. Если вы не дочитали даже до этой строчки, то я не вижу смысла вас вписывать и вообще вам отвечать.

Please send me proper couch requests, not messages about hosting. Please read my COMPLETE PROFILE, information about home and HOUSE RULES before requesting a stay. Please don't send me friend request until we meet in person.

I've hosted and surfed with more people than I have references. Some people just don't post anything after stay. Not cool, but let it be.

I would be happy if you bring me a fridge magnet from your hometown or some cool country you've just been to.

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

I have problems with sleeping and breathing and I struggle with it for last 4 years. It's like apnea but it's actually not. I hope to beat it one day.

I don't smoke.

I do snowboarding since 2002.
I have qualification of snowboarding instructor.

I stopped drinking vodka in November 2003 and still don't consume it neither pure nor in cocktails.

I used to travel a lot, it will take loads of time to write detailed information about all the trips, so I better will not do it. I used to make lots of weekend trips and week-long journeys, few years ago I switched to longer trips, which take few months.

I've done two hitch-hiking trips round Europe in 2007 and 2008.

In summer 2011 I've made the best trip of my whole life (as for now) around US and Mexico for 3,5 months. Couchsurfing, hitch-hiking, camping and so on, it was awesome! In summer 2014 I've made another great trip around US for 2,5 months. It was way different from the previous but I had lots of fun as well.

I've booked 2 European tours for my friends from Russian underground punk rock band and accompanied them on the road. It doesn't make money but brings lots of fun.

I was working hard as economist for TV companies since January 2008, but in February 2011 I quitted and traveled for a while. Then I worked as a charity manager for a major tea company for several months and an event manager in a small agency for more then a year. Then I switched to freelance event management. MMA in Germany and America, projects for Mercedes-Benz and FIFA, etc. Then I worked in a federal bank as a full-time event manager and in a federal company as event/project manager. Then a technical director for a city festival of technologies, which received award as best festival of 2020. Now I work as an event manager for big federal IT company. Mostly I don't like my job. For me it's just an opportunity to earn money. I used to spend all my money on travelling. Experience is priceless, everything else comes and goes.

I used to collect lots of different stuff: magnets (got 2 fridges at my hometown completely covered with them), music vinyls, beer memorabilia (glasses, coasters, caps, labels), coins, books and some other stuff.
Now I just stick to vinyls. But as I moved from my hometown I still need magnets to fill the current fridge. So I will be very happy to receive a magnet from your hometown as a small gift.

In order to stay at me, please start your request with numbers 1312. Otherwise, it means that you didn't bother to read my profile, so why should I bother to host you?

I go to bed around midnight on work days and can show you around. I can host any day if I am in town. I guess 3-4 nights is max.

Sometimes I don't check the CS website often, but all couch requests and private messages come to my e-mail, so don't worry if I've not been online for several weeks, I still read my mail.

PLEASE don't write me more than 2 weeks in advance, I often go out of Moscow to my hometown to visit my Mom and I don't make such plans so far. But also don't write me less then 3 days in advance, I don't do emergency couch requests anymore. If you plan to hit my place I hope you will have detailed profile and a couple of pictures. References are desirable.

p.s. and yeah, like everybody else here, "laid back, easy going". B)

PHILOSOPHY

home is where you place your backpack tonight

I will be especially happy to host people from subcultures I'm into: punks, skins, football fans, snowboarders, bikers, rock musicians.

People who may not feel comfortable at my place: vegans, hippies, hipsters, clubbers, non-drinkers, lovers of Asia, yoga, philosophy, modern art and other "enlightened" people. I'm more into down to earth people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to surf a lot, but not for the last few years. Now I'm paying my debt back to community by hosting in Moscow.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It's mixed, there were great hosts and guests, there were terrible. But life is beautiful because of it's diversity so let that sink.

Anyway, great thanks to all the hosts, who already hosted me and who will host me one day!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I watch a lot of movies with little reviews on IMDb. I don't care about the mass popularity of the movie, I prefer recommendations from my friends. I don't watch a lot of series, it looks like a waste of time for me. Although, I like a few: "My Name Is Earl", "Last Man On Earth", "How Not To Live Your Life", "Bref", "Father Ted", "Narcos".

Books: fiction, books about sports, music, traveling, comics, sometimes about politics or history

Music: punk, ska, rock'n'roll, reggae, folk, country, bluegrass, 8 bit, jazz, blues, metal, oi!, psychobilly, hardcore, rap, soul, swing, a lot of different styles. I collect vinyl.
