PHILOSOPHY
One idea that resonates with me is nicely summed up by Robert Heinlein in _Time Enough for Love_:
"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Wannabe host if I ever have a couch available (I have lived with people who unfortunately are not as open to the idea of Couchsurfing as I am) and occasional information source and drinking buddy for CS visitors. =)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I live in a small town and have not yet had the opportunity to host, but I have been able to meet up with Couchsurfers visiting the area and had a great time!
