About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Peace and harmony both inside of me and around me

ABOUT ME

Before all, if you have an intention to write me, I kindly ask you to read my complete profile. After having done that, you will understand what I mean.
Now about me. I studied in the University of Tartu in the faculty of Economics. Recently I started with a distance MA program on Applied Linguistics that I hope to finish as soon as possible.
Now I have been living in Ecuador for almost 5 years. Don´t ask why, it´s a long story, a coincidence of different circumstances. Let´s say that once I came here I was simply curious about Latin American culture, and now I am still here...
I work for the best university in Quito (according to my criteria :)). I am also developing a couple of tourism-related projects. My passions are tourism, education, culture and language learning.
I am open for communication with different people from all over the world. I am very happy if I can offer you any kind of help. If you should come to Ecuador, don`t hesitate to contact!
Generally speaking, I like to talk, but I am very calm and almost never shout at anyone or loose self-control (except people I know and trust:) ). I am relatively straightforward, I am sometimes able to tell you bad things, if you do something strongly against my principles. However, in this case I don´t mean it generally about you, I just pay attention to what you have done.

PHILOSOPHY

It is best to get positive emotions, and we get them only through discovering of new things. It is important to keep the very basic things, without which we cannot manage (for example friends, income etc). Happyness is, when we can dream about new experiences and don`t have to think about how to get the basic things back (in case if we have lost some of them). We can get what we want, if we make ourselves useful - we should not suppose, that someone gives us something without getting anything in return. If we get anything for free, once we will have to repay for it anyway! If something goes wrong, we have to understand, how the things are, and then we should think about what can be done to improve them. Most people, however, waste their time thinking about how things should be (although the things may not be changed). Finally, if you do something, don`t only think about how to be the best - think about how to do things in the best way!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted several CS guests, and I occasionally participate in CS events.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted many travellers, you can see it from my references as well. I have often tried to use CS while travelling, because it is not just a question about the free accommodation; I am more interested in finding new friends. For this, CS is the best place, because according to my experience, I can more probably find friendly people like this.

Interests

Literature, travelling, system and structure (it may mean many things, but everybody can guess...), languages, cultures and cultural diversities

Music, Movies, and Books

Hermann Hesse "The Glass Bead Game" & "Steppenwolf", Kurt Vonnegut "Breakfast of Champions", William Faulkner "Light in August"
80`s music, punk-rock, baroque music
"Lieutenant Colonel", "Good, Bad and the Ugly", "The Lost City"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to Latinamerica without having any friends there in the beginning, and without knowing any Spanish. Now, after having lived here for several years, I don`t wanna leave here before I have done something important and useful for this country.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you are open-minded, friendly and respectful, I will welcome you: I can offer you help, advice, company or a couch, every time I am able to do that. I normally have positive expectations towards new people, and I haven`t really had many bad experieces with couchsurfers. However, before writing me, I would ask you to think about why you really need me. For me, communication and getting to know new people who share similar principles, is one of the fundameltals of Couchsurfing. So, if you believe a free accommodation is the only thing you are interested in, then I`d rather recommend you a couple of fine hostals, where you can stay for 7-9 $, which is practically nothing.
