About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I teach international politics at the University of Vienna (focus on Latin America) and working for the Government (unrelated Media Nonsense)
ABOUT ME
Mhm, so this won´t be the best you´ll read because i really don´t like to write about myself, with itself maybe already says something about myself (that i´m really honest with myself and that i hate selling myself= hate writing curricula vitae and applications)
So: starting from my appearence i´m quite big (1,87 and 90k), but as soon as you see my face and my grin you´ll know that i´m harmless and as soon as yout talk with me that i´m a very kind and actually very funny (but maybe just maybe to cynical) person
I'm studied political science at the university of vienna, focusing especially on social movements, social struggeles and political theory in Latin America and i am now giving courses in exactly this field (no phd-writing, hate that, just teaching)
In my spare time, I like to read a lot, go hiking got out to, have fun with friends, play basketball, aka all the usual stuff people do.
I especially enjoy to travel= usual summer out of university always was 2 months of hard factory work and one month away (flying and backpacking out of europe, hitchiking in europe, take a little bus, build a bed and travel through europe).
ok, so that´s it. it think that you will learn more about you if contact me (email tobiaszortea@hotmail.com and skype: tobias zortea)
as i said i hate writing about myself
PHILOSOPHY
This is the place for all this wise mottos, quoutes, is it?
I have not of that. Generally i try in relation to the world to think for myself, reflect what i see, read and hear and always keep a critical mind and disobey as often as possible , and for myself to enjoy life, including the small things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
as i´m very new here, not really much, but i would like to surf, and also offer my couch, when i´m in Austria
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Had great experiences with couchsurfing in Argentina, Uruguay and Italy. Was hosted by very nice people, some of which became friendes. Besides couchsurfing, i have experience with travelling and sleeping on couches and couchlike arrangements of friends abroad, migrant working collegues in their home towns, distant family members, people i just randomly now, people i just met, in the open and in trainstations. And except the trainstations this was generally a far better experience than all the comercial options (hostals, hotels).
Interests
seeing things, learning things (includes knowledge, travelling and languages), all sorts of music, some art (with these two i´m kind of irrational eclectic, from Son House to Piero Manzoni) philosophy, politics, kick-boxing
