Music, Movies, and Books
I am a huge cinephile and I watch all kinds of movies from around the world. Some of my most favorite movies of all time are:
– The Shawshank Redemption
– Fight Club
– One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
– Cinema Paradiso
– OldBoy
this is nothing trust me, I have many lists of movies by genres, emotions, culture from different countries!! Maybe I should write blogs about it ;D
Music is kind of like my saviour. I enjoy music while I'm travelling, cooking, taking a shower, coding, or even just to sit and relax. I don't have a list per se but some of the ones I listen a lot are:
– All Star by Smash Mouth
– Don't Stop Believin' by Journey
– Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwoʻole
– Experience by Ludovico Einaudi
– Мой Рок-Н-Ролл by Bi-2
– Boshret Kheir by Hussain Al Jassmi
– Pal Behta Jaaye by Vismay Patel
and many more :)
Some of the books that really changed the way I used to think
– The Alchemist
– The Kite Runner
– Blink
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Road Less Traveled
—————————————
Well, since I have never travelled abroad so I will say something interesting from my travel to Goa.
I discovered a hidden beach in Goa amidst the mountains. I was very excited to go there but I didn't know much about the area. So I took my rented scooter and vroom.
I drove about 35 kms while taking short breaks at thrilling places and got to see some amazing things, like
– a scenic bridge in the Assolna village
– a temple atop a tree
– roadside fish market where they sell dried fish
– steep 75 degree drop road to
– Cabo de Rama beach 😍
– local family making Feni
etc.
Google Maps was guiding me all along the way, up until now! It stopped showing the route to my destination because there was no road or even a path. All I could see was a road by which I came, a thick jungle on either side leading to picturesque mountains and my scooter lol. Since there was no parking obviously, I used my jugaad skills – I rolled my scooter in the bushes and covered it with branches hoping it wouldn't get stolen. SPOILER ALERT: it didn't get stolen! 😜
I ventured into the jungle full of poisonous plants that cut through my legs. I had to literally pull them out of my skin and it started to bleed. I collected the leaves of the same plant and wiped my blood. The jungle was dense and steep. Slowly I managed to slide down my way to a bridge where the water stream seemed to have dried out but it looked quite fresh. I then saw a young guy approaching towards me and he had soda in his hands and some fried fish or something in a covered pan. I asked him, "are you going to the beach?" to which he replied "yes." I followed up by asking if the beach was near and he suggested me to take "this way up (mountain) and then take any sharp way down when the beach is visible." I did the same.
When I reached the top, I was blown away by the view. In the distance I could see a beautifully shaped mountain, ocean all around it and the sun was perfectly lighting up the whole excitement mood. I made my way down reaching the vantage point of the beach when I noticed two hippie Russian girls cooking something. Reaching closer I realised they had been living here for sometime as they had a small hut, some washed clothes drying on a string, while they were barbecuing fish grooving to some cool Bob Marley music.
And there it was – the beautiful Kakolem Beach 🤩. So calm, not at all crowded, and the waves so beautiful. I slept for 20 minutes or so near the shore with the magical natural white noise. I could see a couple sitting somewhere in the jungle doing mungle, and few sophisticated posh Indian group of people ordering drinks and food while young guys made trips along the jungle to bring them whatever they needed for a hefty price.
It was worth it and I highly recommend this place to everyone going to Goa.
🔥 PS: the way back was very adventurous and exciting as well because I forgot the path and ended up somewhere on the road and had to hike, take lifts on strangers cars/motorbikes, forgot where I had parked my scooter and it was not easily visible also, you know why :D But that story is for some other day!!
