ABOUT ME
I'm Zoya, a pint sized medic with a love for new experiences.
I was adopted from Russia as a baby then I lived in New Jersey for a few years. I'm proud to call Boston my newest home.
PHILOSOPHY
I strive to help and learn from others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm brand new to this! So, I'm not sure what to expect, but I love meeting new people!
Interests
I like to browse tumblr, draw, visit museums and libraries, explore the T, read comic books and cook. I'm also brand new to running (I run my first 5k race in March!) and I'm interested in training with parkour/free running once the weather improves! I used to play lacrosse and colorguard in high school.
I also love craft beer (American IPAs and Belgian Tripels!) and would like to brew my own at home. I like to catalogue my tasting adventures on intsagram with other craft beer bloggers :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Beginning my medic journey at 16 on a volunteer fire department was a very important thing for me. I served a town of 12,000 people. It allowed me to see my neighbors in a very different light and being able to help them during their worst moments (like car accidents or building fires) really humbled me.
Now that I work in a large hospital in a much bigger city. I may not see the same patients, but caring for people from all walks of life has shaped how I see the world even though I have yet to travel it! <3
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm beginning to teach myself electric guitar. Occasionally I play ukulele as well.
I also enjoy doing hula hoop tricks on the Common downtown to local bands in the spring/summertime.
I really love to cook and try new foods as well. I was a vegetarian for about 8 years and now enjoy paleolithic style cooking. Lots of fruits, vegetables and meats! Not so much big on dairy and wheat anymore. But, I will make the occasional exception~ :P
When I was in High School I studied Japanese and German for 4 years, but I am very much out of practice. I would love to have someone help me with my skills, especially Russian because I was born there but never had to opportunity to learn because I moved to the US as a baby.
