About Me

Joined the site back in 2009 in hopes of meeting others like me. I always try to meet new people when I travel, to get to know who they are and what’s on their mind, share a drink, a story, and possibly a few laughs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When exploring new places, its best to spend some time with the locals. Whether traveling or hosting, I’m always up for a meal or a drink while exchanging travel experiences. I've only had positive experiences with CSing so far. I've used the site to travel, host, and arrange a few local meetups over the years.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love reading, and I'm always looking for recommendations. I mostly fiction these days, anything by David Baldacci, Dean Koontz, Lee Child, and Stephen King. I read a fair amount of nonfiction as well, mostly for educational/self development purposes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spontaneously traveled to Mexico and Canada in the same day, for absolutely no reason. I was driving through Texas on my way to Arizona with a friend, and we decided to take a very unwise detour into Juarez Mexico for breakfast (interesting story all in itself). I caught a flight to Pittsburgh later that same day, where a friend picked me up from at the airport. After telling her about my adventure in Mexico that morning, she asked what was stopping us from driving to Canada... We drove straight from the airport to the Niagra Falls that evening, explored for about an hour, and then began our 6 hour journey home to West Virginia..
What I like most about this memory is how we were living in the moment by our own rules. It reminds me that there's potential for fun and adventure everyday if I can push myself out of my comfort zone.
