Overview
About Me
I am a more mature traveller who is on world tour with my youngest child (12 yr old boy, called Siddha). I have been to many countries, stayed with friends and family, worked, 'touristed', volunteered... In my home country, New Zealand, our house is often full with people from around the world, even though this is my first time to sign up for Couchsurfing. I enjoy meeting people, new people, young people, old people, similar people, different people.... people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In my (longish) life I discovered that I enjoy most being dropped in the deep: yes, it is a good thing to be a tourist, yet even better to be part of community. To get to meet the 'locals', to be immersed in the culture, to share stories. Couchsurfing (hopefully) will be my newest way of exploring our connectedness. I am so looking forward to it!
It is also my intention to involve Siddha in this exploration: he has been travelling with me since his birth, and is a curious, open and kind boy.

Music, Movies, and Books
We have just watched Tom Lehrer's The Elements on youtube, it is hilariously great, and watching it was inspired by my Daily Good (http://www.dailygood.org) reading: The music inside you.
My morning book right now is Jack Kornfield's The Art of Forgiveness..., my night time book is Conductive Education.
Siddha and I are doing MOOC (massive open online courses) on Antarctic and Marine Science and Roman History, and we just watched a movie titled: The end of the line, it is a documentary about the oceans and fishing and people.
I do like reading. And films. And studying:)
