I'm a 29 year old who fell in love with South America and travelling during my time in Paraguay. I will in fact be in Asuncion until Feb 25, 2013.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Staying with friends and making new ones while travelling is one of the most rewarding experiences. Nobody can show you around a place and get you away from the tourist traps like a local. The people I've meet have been so universally amazing and each person was wonderful.

I've learned so much about people and life from CS, I don't have enough good things to say about the site.

兴趣

scuba diving, recumbent bikes, ultimate frisbee, life, the universe, and everything. I love having crazy academic discussions over a beer or three, getting off the beaten path and seeing a country from the perspective of the locals, learning about the rich and varied history of the places I visit, going to museums, etc.

I've seen a shanty town behind the beautiful capital building in Asuncion, Paraguay. I saw children begging for food in the streets and dogs dying of starvation. I saw farmers proudly holding up their favorite crop and smiling with crooked teeth.
