About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My wife and I are well educated and well travelled. We love people and are very intellectually curious about people, places, culture, and religion. We are outdoorspeople and love sailing, biking, camping, hiking, birdwatching, canoeing, and nature study.

ABOUT ME

Retired couple. One daughter 28 who graduated UNC in 2010 and now living in South Korea. We are both college graduates. Intellectually curious. Love outdoor sports especially sailing and biking. Love to cook and entertain. Love people especially fellow travellers. Have travelled extensively worldwide. Love books.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a Unitarian Universalist by religion and have a very liberal philosophy regarding social issues. I have a very strong moral and environmental ethic. I am open-minded and very curious about others experiences and perspectives. I love interesting people, entertaining, and conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies that make you think. I like all kinds of music, blues being my favorite. I read mostly non-fiction with an occasional classic novel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I sailed a 40 foot sailboat across the Atlantic and in southern South America near Antarctica.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a Captain's license and can teach sailing. I'm also very interested in the academic aspects of religion and theology. I also write essays on politics, religion, and the environment. I am very curious about the life experiences of others, esp. travellers.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Sailing and cycling during warm weather. Good conversation any time.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Bahamas, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, England, France, Germany, Greece, Guam, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, Scotland, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, United States, United States Minor Outlying Islands, Vatican City State, Viet Nam, Virgin Islands, British, Wales
