About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To discovery my own soul by exploring this wondrous world I am a part of.

ABOUT ME

Welcome to my small part of Couchsurfing. I hope you enjoy your stay.

My favourite thing to do is have a great conversation. And yet I find great value in the quiet moments of each day.

I am currently working as a travel agent, helping others plan incredible trips through which their world view may expand.

PHILOSOPHY

'Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really Love. It will not lead you astray.' -Rumi

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I tend to be a little shy at first but soon I engage with those I find around me. I want to experience things for myself and I am learning everyday how to tune into my inner compass to guide me through each moment.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Amazing! Just amazing! Seriously, amazing! Thank you to all who have hosted me so far and all who will host me in the future. I have started hosting in SA and I look forward to all the learning opportunities ahead.

Anyone who loves great acting, brilliant story telling and beautiful cinematography, will totally enjoy South African movies. Our best products come from an all SA cast, but I’ve included some with international writers / directors / actors as I feel these also will give you a good understanding of this incredibly dynamic country. So here we go:

- A dry white season (actually a book and one of my favourites, but a really great movie too)
- Sarafina (a musical that poignantly depicts the struggles of South African students living during apartheid)
- The bang bang club (an interesting account of apartheid through the eyes of photojournalists)
- Yesterday (a personal account of a mother living with HIV)
- Tsotsi (a depiction of current post apartheid SA and the legacy of poverty and wealth apartheid has left)
- Gangsters Paradise: Jerusalema (a true Johustleburg story)
- District 9 (epic, just fucking epic)
- The river between (you will fall in love with both characters)
- There’s a Zulu on my stoep (slapstick comedy by a popular SA comedian. Because comedy is important too)
