Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Over the next few years I want to visit and work in as many unique places in the US as possible.
ABOUT ME
I'm from a mid-sized suburb town near Atlanta Georgia. I went to UGA in Athens and got a degree and all that, but now I'm roaming the Wester US, looking for interesting, meaningful, outdoor, and usually low-paying experiences. So far I've been in Nevada since Oct '07 working with the Nevada Conservation Corps and it has changed my entire perception on what is necessary to live happily nowadays. Its definitely encouraged me to continue roaming and adventuring more in the coming years. I just have to figure out what I want to do and where I want to go next.
PHILOSOPHY
Standard American life seems soul-crushing, to be dramatic, so instead, I like alternative experience in strange, beautiful places.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
No couch still. Not even a bed really (I spend most of my time in the backcountry), but hopefully I'll be able to participate soon. Regardless, I think this is a great project that could help tie us all together and create awesome experiences and life-long friends.
Interests
Music, drum kits (though none in my possession at the moment), biking, occasional snowboarding, hiking, living in the wilderness, people, animation, eastern & western religion, brewing and drinking good beer, new foods, trying to start flossing, sharing new music, nutrition, science.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Psychedelic music, metal, riffy-rock a la Kyuss, droney/ambient/experimental stuff, electronica, psych-folk, blue grass, slowed down doomy stuff, indie rock, weird hip-hop, Ethiopian, anything w/ a sitar or a koto...willing to try out any kind of music.
In terms of books, I'm very erratic with what I read, but generally, I like good sci-fi (John Crowley, Philip K Dick), contemporary and classic lit., political stuff, a bit of philosophy (dont know much), science, sociology, some history, a bit of economics, theology...I'll read just about anything, or at least start it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think one of the most amazing things i've seen is Johnson Lake from above 10 thousand feet on a crazy summit in Great Basin National Park. Highly recommend it.
Also highly recommend sky diving.
Teach, Learn, Share
Brewing (though a little rusty at the moment for lack of facilities), conservation work in the Mojave Desert, I'll think of more soon.
Would love to learn the best way to go about getting a gov. chainsaw certification. Also interested in learning something of bicycle maintenance and farming/gardening.
