About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live, have joy, make this world a better place, and ah hell...I'll just figure out the rest when I get there :)

ABOUT ME

Me? Oh, I am a happy person. I can be shy, or outgoing. Love to stay home, and sometimes I love to go out. I run into walls and corners, and trip on most even surfaces, ie I'm an accident waiting to happen. Luv, luv, luv being near water and mountains, but live in the near desert. Strongly dislike wasps/bees, and waterbugs. Spiders are ok as long as they aren't on me. Don't enjoy confrontations. I have to take care of others, it's my jobs and in my blood, and that's cool with me ;) Rather laugh than cry. Get confused easily, especially when math is involved. Raw onions make me puke. Lover, not a fighter. Tend to be lazy. Don't have a lot of layers, what you see is what you get. Usually blurt out whatever is on my mind, whether it is polite conversation or not. Am aware of some of my faults and am always striving to improve. Need lists in order to get anything accomplished. Mornings are NEVER good for me, and sometimes I don't talk at all. I'm horribly ticklish...and a poor speller...

PHILOSOPHY

The Golden Rule. Karma. They have been passed down for so long, it's gotta be good, and if it's good...why jack with it?!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Showing you my town, and letting you crash on my couch. Visiting your town, and crashing on your couch! Going to events when I can, and helping out where and when needed. I just LOVE a good ol CS meet-up or Couchcrash!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I was planning my first adventure overseas (Egypt!), I stumbled across couchsurfing and thought "Wow, now that's just cool! Like staying with friends and not being on my own? Sign me up!" Never for once thought that once I returned home, that anyone would ever need a couch in my teeny little town out in the west area of Texas, but sure do love it when y'all do!

Through the last 8 years that I've been a CSer, folks from Switzerland, Australia, the USA, New Caldocenia, Canada, and even a few of my fellow Texans have surfed my couch!

It's so amazing. To be in another country or even your own, and meet people that have the same open minds/hearts/homes/couches/arms as you do, just makes me feel all warm and cozy! Kinda restores some of my faith and hope in mankind ;)

Interests

Seeing places I have heard about... hearing about places I haven't seen... reading... cooking for friends... drinking... doing things I have read about... dancing (I have zero rhythm but I do my best!)... the human body, how it works... hashing...making people smile or feel good....getting massages... laying out in the sun being lazy... watching movies... swimming... living...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2010 I went to Nevada to attend Burning Man, and volunteered to work with the Medical Dept. Picked up the Sunday night Temple RIT shift, which meant that we would get to be on the inner ring of observers, standing by in case anyone got hurt when the Temple burned. They let us, and the Fire Dept have the honor to be the last ones to walk through the Temple before it burned. Seeing other people's anguish, happiness, grief, hope, love, and forgiveness on those walls gave me a feeling that I have nothing to compare it to. Never before have I felt so awed, and humbled, and grateful to have the amazing life that I have.
