Overview
About Me
WE'RE IN CHINA AND JAPAN UNTIL FEBRUARY, WILL OPEN MY PROFILE FOR HOSTING AGAIN AFTER THE TRIP
We are receiving up to 7 or 8 requests per day, so in order to give everyone a fair chance we've decided to only reply maximum 1 week before the arrival dates. Also we won't host people only coming for 1 night anymore. Other than that. Welcome to Amsterdam :-)
CURRENT MISSION
see all the beauty the world has to offer - and contribute to it whenever possible
ABOUT ME
I'm a human, born on planet earth, in amsterdam. And I'm not good at making a description of myself, so you will just have to meet me in person.
PHILOSOPHY
live life, be happy and make others happy.
Everyone makes bad decisions, everyone does bad things; just make sure that at the end of the day, you leave the world in a better state than you found it, and always make sure that whatever you do was well intentioned, and seemed right with the information you had at the time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I travel, I host, and I frequent a lot of events.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Although I was mostly staying at the houses of people I just met on the street (couchsurfing the oldschool way) it was partially though the couchsurfing system that I was able to travel for almost a year straight even though i left with just 350 euro's in the pocket :).
Now I'm lucky enough to be able to return the favour and start hosting people, meeting some wonderful people from all corners of this beautiful planet.
Interests
Traveling, seeing and learning new things, chilling, walking/cycling/being in nature, photographing, cooking, woodworking, making things in general and every other thing fun under the sky (and above; I won't be picky about that :D).
And I've got a weird fondness of often useless information.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
That's a very hard one; I have seen the sunrise above countless of seas, oceans and lakes, amongst which Ohrid and Kelimutu. I have vissited the Taj Mahal, mount Athos, Meteora, the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sofia, Vatican City, Haridwar and Varanasi, as well as the Borobudur. I visited a dozen temples in Tibet and snuck into Petra with the help of a local.
I've seen (some in close encounters) sharks, 3 species of sea turtle, 5 of landturtle, a dozen different species of monkeys/apes/half-apes, snakes and lizzards (komodo dragons), deer, bears, wolfes, voxes, elephants, and countless of other animals, all in their wild surroundings.
I have made a hike through the indonesian jungle during which I saw a 35 meter's high waterfall, with absolutely huge wild honeycomes hanging underneath it's cliffs.
I snorkelled and free dived at komodo, bali, flores, greece, turkey, morocco, and above all the bunaken.
I've seen gray, brown, bleu, yellow, red, green, black, turqouise and orange rivers and lakes (some of them comming straight from beneath a glacier, others at a steaming 60 degrees celcius).
I rode from Serbia till the end of the Turkish back sea coast by bicycle and hitchhiked in over two dozen countries. Whilst hitchhiking I went 230 km/h on the autobahn in a mini, and 15 km/h with a horse carriage in Morocco; I found myself standing on the back of a pickup truck (ducking to avoid low hanging branches and almost falling off due to the many potholes) in Indonesia, and waiting for over an hour before seeing a single car below the arctic circle in Norway just after new years: it was -30 degrees Celsius and it had been night for weeks.
So naming just ONE amazing thing is that i have seen or done in is a nearly impossible task, since I've got to many things to choose from.
visited 35 countries I think?
Teach, Learn, Share
I can help you with one or more languages, cooking, the very basics (depends who you ask) of photography, travel tips. I'm also good manually, and like fixing things, like machines, houses, furniture (or sometimes computers).
I want to learn EVERYTHING, except all the supposedly 100 words for snow in some inuit languages. I love snow, but that's just too much ;)
