About Me

Hello! I'm a front-end developer from Mexico, soon moving to Amsterdam for work. I'm a programmer and geek at heart and enjoy all things electronic, be it a TV, a drone, a computer or an old radio. I enjoy taking apart stuff just to see how it works. I try to put them back together but often fail. I like helping others whenever possible and I feel that the world really needs more empathy at times, be it at simple stuff like helping someone with a flat tire or more serious matters.

The biggest lesson I've learnt can be summed up in one phrase: "it may not be your fault, but it is your problem".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My mom always asked me to take her to New York city and I finally was able to save enough to take her and my sister there. Unfortunately, I didn't seem to have saved enough and hosting in NYC is expensive! So I thought this might be a good alternative.

Interests

I really enjoy music, specially live music. Be it a festival, a small bar, a big concert or a small reunion with a guitar and some friends. Music is life. I'm also a geek at heart and enjoy videogames a lot. Hiking and ecotourism in general is my favourite kind of tourism. It's just refreshing to disconnect from the city and technology and noise and just be able to appreciate nature.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music except country. I've tried, but failed.

My favourite movie is "Big Fish", but I enjoy almost everything from "Fight Club" to "My Sassy Girl", going through "Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy".

I'm ashamed to say I don't read as much as I do. I spend my days infront of a computer, writing code and the least I want to do in my free time is read more. That said, I enjoy science fiction the most and Asimov will always have a place in my heart.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fought my fear of heights by going on a tandem flight. It was amazing!
