About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to settle into living a normal life (and failing miserably)

ABOUT ME

Hello there! I’m Tom Lloyd Francis. Drummer by trade, Traveller by nature. I was travelling around the world for 3 and a half years solid and returned to England in April 2017. I've been trying to settle back into normality ever since whilst getting up to as much mischief as possible. Music, travelling, rock climbing and fire spinning are my passions. I spin fire with contact staff and rope dart and have worked for a few circuses in Australia. not performing unfortunately, I’m not that good. But I’ve loved every step of the way so far and I intend to continue on this road. I love meeting new and fantastic people and I’d be more than happy to help anyone out when & where I can.

PHILOSOPHY

Be the change you want to see in the World.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Over my travels, so many people have welcomed and accepted me into their homes without knowing anything about me. So when I can I'd love to repay the favour if i ever get anything bigger than a tent. Otherwise, I just enjoy helping out where ever I can. Cleaning the house, climbing on the roof and cleaning windows, Bit of DIY, I'm more than happy to lend a helping hand.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a lovely Australian woman called Michelle when I was still in England. I also managed to stay in a Castle in Belgium through couch surfing which was incredible. But so many people have let me stay in their spare beds or couches over my travels. It really restores my faith in humanity knowing that there's some truly incredible people out there.

Interests

drumming, traveling, playing guitar, playing music with complete strangers, fire spinning, nature in general, hanging out with old friends and new. enjoying life in general.

Music, Movies, and Books

I must admit, I'm not the biggest fan of reggae, RnB, or most things in the charts. But i am open to being surprised and amazed by any form of music you may have. Some of my favourite albums include "Gambler's Ballet" by a Irish band called "Kila", "My Favourite Faded Fantasy" by Damien Rice, and "God Shuffled his Feet" by "Crash Test Dummies". Some of my favourite films are The Fountain, Kahil Gilbran's The Prophet, Secret of Kells, Her, and Into The Wild

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

so many bizarre and amazing things have happened during my lifetime. but one of the most majestic places i've seen is Lake Bohinj in Slovenia. absolutely beautiful lake in the Slovenian alps with crystal clear waters. stayed out there for 3 days in a shelter which this woman and her friends made right next to the lake.

Teach, Learn, Share

i can teach people how to play drums and percussion. I can also teach you some contact staff and rope dart if you want. but I'd quite like to learn how to speak Spanish or French, or anything which you'd be willing to teach. I'm open to learning new and bizarre things :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Over my travels I practiced my baking skills. So, I'm more than happy to bake a cake, or a apple crumble. Or even a loaf of bread from scratch. I also can make pizzas from scratch too. And I'm always happy to play music for people or, recite some of my poetry if you feel like listening.
